ansky -- I wasn't sure if you were asking who I thought would win (the Lakers, ugh) or who I'd prefer to win (Spurs)...not crazy about either of these teams, but I have a strange feeling that the Lakers will pull it out despite the talent the Spurs have and their good dee...I voted the Lakers to win...
the Knicks are still out of it, huh? :D

i can't say i really give a damn either way, but considering where i live (and my students, who of course think shaq and kobe are cool--ick), i guess i hope it's the lakers.
but my first thought was the same as b-b-lunachick: the Knicks are still out of it, huh?

There is no doubt in my mind IF the Spurs had or have a healthy Derek Anderson then they win in six games.
However, seeing that Derek is out at the moment and won't be 100% if he could make it back in time to play...
there is no doubt it will be a very difficult series for the Spurs to pull out.
I am still gonna go with the Spurs - albeit, very scared. We have the home court - so if we can just take it to
the seventh game - I know we will win it all.
It starts tomorrow!
Lets just say, I am not that confident if you didnt gather that already.....but I have a lot of faith.

Twin Towers vs Kobe and Shaq.
After the Big Four, I think the Spurs have more. Spurs in seven.

Since I hate the Lakers and Shaq &po'd&, I want and think, sort of, that the Spurs will be the Champions yet again, although I would prefer the Knicks. :D
Being from So Cal you would think I would want the Lakers to win! But my favorite sports teams are NOT from California!
I LOVE THE YANKEES!
And so for LouBahy (remember him?!) even though I think he would go for the Laker Girls  ! I know right now hes rooting for His Spurs!!
My Vote was for the Spurs! Sorry Shaq
Wheres The Knicks :( even the Pacers didnt make it! :(
Oh Weeelllllllll

Yeah if I had the Warriors as my home team I'd hate the Lakers too. :D Kobe doesn't have to be MJ. He's better than MJ was at 22. Jordan didn't win his first title until he was 29. Lakers up 2-0 and nothings gonna stop them.

Well Ansky you can really respect him when he's sitting home like the rest of us working folk watching the finals. ;)
I don't understand this hostility toward Kobe. All he's done is get better as a player and be a proven winner. He went out all summer long to improve his game and then called out Shaq for showing up out of shape. How do you hate a guy for that?
If you don't like him, because he's playing for the Lakers, that I can understand a little, but to hate him for what? I don't get that part.

Ok when the Lakers win, I am rooting for the MVP !!! (allen I)

Laker crushed the Spurs by 30+ tonight. They are definitely not the same team. I don't see anyone beating them at this point.

hey russ, i think the reason people don't like kobe is that he is so arrogant. "humble" is not in his vocabulary. he may be amazingly talented, but he is still extremely lucky to be in the right place at the right time. he always seems to forget that--especially this past season when he and shaq were fighting (well, um, kobe was fighting and shaq just stood there letting him throw punches).
i can't believe the lakers are doing this w/almost no opposition. i guess if they had to beat up on anyone i don't mind it being san antonio--after what the spurs did to to the knicks in '99. but i just can't believe the spurs are rolling over like this.
it's fun finally being in the same town w/the champs for once--i just don't happen to like these champs!

ps: jeanne and russ, where the hell's the sun!?!?

At this point, it looks like the finals are going to be rather anti-climatic. I don't see either team from the East beating the Lakers, and I'm a Sixer fan.
BTW, there's few teams in sports that I hate more than the Lakers... :)

And Michael Jordan was humble? ;) How many times did he run down the floor chewing that gum with that self-assured smirk on his face? I used to love it. People who don't like him call him arrogant. People, such as myself, call it confidence. This guy is the best all around player in the NBA right now. He can talk the talk and walk the walk.
