 I'm only laughing because my team is so bad!
With the injuries I had in the original league last year, I can sympathize with ya, Steve. Sucks the big one.
You and Snatch Catch have an All-Star Team on your injured lists. :(

I was thinking the same thing about the all star injured list.
you know every big name that has gone down this year, I have in one league or another. Here's my injured list for the money league I'm in:
Gagne
Ordonez
Garciaparra
Sheets
The FBB gods are against me this year.
I have Schilling and Gagne in one league (2 of my 5 keepers). I keep looking at Brazoban and all his saves, and think how they could be Gagne's....

I know, I'm just playing. :)
I There really isn't much positive going on for myself or Steve right now, though. You kind of just have to sit back and laugh at it!

the funny thing is, the guys I pick up wind up doing well. When Bags gets off the DL I may just drop the worthless f*ckass.

There's no limit to the amount you are allowed, but its currently set at 6.
If we need more, I'll just add more slots.
I told you that during the auction :D
Were you the same person who told me I overbid on Soriano? I believe the quote was something like "Overbid for 2002's stats" ;) :D

The New York Knights are happy to announce that they have reached a deal with the Evil Empire to trade SP Wade Miller for RP Trevor Hoffman. Miller, on the DL (and the trading block) all season pitched well in his season debut last weekend, while Hoffman has overcome a rocky start (4 ER in 2/3 IP on Opening Day) to allow only 1 ER in his last 12 appearances (12 IP), to lower his ERA from 54.00 to 3.553, while picking up 9 saves.
Miller replaces Schmidt in the Empire's rotation, and comes with a cheap ($2) price tag.
To make room for Hoffman ($13) on their roster, the Knights dropped Dustin Hermanson ($10), who was signed to replace the injured Armando Benitez.

Looking over my options this morning to replace the injured Schmidt, I saw things are running quite thin. Since I have no reason to shoot for saves, I figure compiling wins and Ks, while having a guy with a decent ERA would be more important. I apologize to the rest of you for making a very strong team even stronger, but Hoffman has been on the block for quite some time, Eric made me an offer that gets me a guy potentially better then anyone available.
Plus, with the way things are going, maybe he'll wind up back on the DL further helping the Yankees. A spot on the Evil Empire means you're heading for the DL.

Holy Smokes, Steve. Do you do deals at gunpoint?

 Maybe, but he was projected at 32-100-.283-24 (HR-RBI-BA-SB).
He's on pace for 47-114-.2908-23 so I'm pretty happy with my $35 purchase so far. :D

Holy Smokes, Steve. Do you do deals at gunpoint?I need a starter, and no one's wanted Hoffman for almost 2 weeks now. he wasn't helping me and I took the best I could get. Again, i apologize for making a strong team stronger, but a RP at this point does me no good.

I might regret defending my lead in saves at the expense of wins and strikeouts...but we'll see. It also gives me flexibility to make other deals, or protects my staff if another reliever gets injured (like Benitez did).
For Steve, this is a -3 deal in Saves (as he'll fall to 12th place in the category eventually), but possibly a plus (or at least a defense) in Wins and K's with Schmidt's recent injury. For me, it's +/- 0 in Saves (since I lead by a slim margin) and like I said, possibly a minus in wins and K's had I dropped Hermanson and activated Miller. But Miller's inury status over the last year or so made me want to deal him as a precaution. I feel it's a plus in one way, that I had been trying (before Benitez got injured) to package Miller with Cordero or Batista, so getting Hoffman for Miller straight up feels like a plus.
Like I said...we'll see. It's still only 1/5 of the way into the season.
If it makes you feel any better, in terms of production I lost more with Sheets and Craig Wilson going down.
I picked up Tino!
Hopefully he can squeeze something more out his hot streak!
