Empire get:
Adam Dunn
Shawn Green
Kerry wood
release: carl Everett
Bitches Brew get:
Johan Santana
Garret Anderson
This was a sweet deal for both teams. I'm giving up on Ks and Wins for the moment, but as previously stated I have two solid starters on the DL which should help me when they return. Dunn and Green upgrade a few offensive categories for me which I need. With the injury to Magglio I've been anemic.
I'm busy today.....

Another really good and fair trade that benefits both teams.
Steve,
You feel like Billy Beane yet? Moneyball is in session!

I'm having fun actually!
I was hoping Santana would pay off. Looks like it did. If Wood turns it around it may wind up working very well for me.
So I'm waiting on Zito, Wood, and Loaiza to turn things around now. And I'm waiting for Penny and Benson to get off the dl. Wait until Magglio, Thomas, and Greene come off. then I'll be unstoppable...
mwahahahahahaha

As a Zito owner last year, I can say "Keep waiting".
Zero is washed up.

Wood may have been a frustration move on my part, but I waited patiently last year for him as well.
I needed an ace on my staff, and now I have it.
The way I see it, I gave up Ks (Dunn) for more Ks (Santana)...not sure who will finish the season with more.

Your making me feel a little better. But, Milano dumped him. Shouldn't he be better.

You got Santana. You win.
Steve was foolish to trade him. Its not like he got any keeper potential back in return.
Wood was one of the worst buys in the draft.
The trade certainly isn't veto-able, but its certainly a bit lopsided, IMO.
Nicely done, Robby!
Steve, you just took it in the pooper (although I love Dunn).

hmmm...
well I don't agree. I actually did consult a fantasy guru I know and considering my needs I was advised it was a very good trade for me.
We'll see, this is a test year for me. I'm not all that concerned with winning as much as I am learning from my mistakes, how to play this strategy and manipulate the scoring. I've only been in the running one time for each type of league I've ever joined, in my first year. But I always wind up right at the top or contending the next year. We'll see man.

Santana isn't just a good Roto pitcher; he's a DOMINANT one. That is very rare. He will ANCHOR your staff in WHIP and ERA, and boost your standing in K's a bunch.
Wood is a big gamble, and Dunn will actually DETRACT from a category, despite producing well in a couple of others.
I was expecting you to at least get back some keeper value for him...
You would have been better off trading him to me for a package like a $7 Jeremy Bonderman and a $9 Lance Berkman (I wouldn't have done it, but I was just giving an example).
After I was nice and undid our other trade, he should have taken Wade Miller for him in a package.

I needed offense. Of course Santana would anchor my staff, but this is a compiling league and I can't count on one guy to keep me afloat for 3 categories when I can get 2 guys in return to help boost me to the top in 3 others. While also getting a guy that if he rights whatever is wrong, can get me close to where I was with who I let go.
We'll see how it turns out though. You may be right. If I made a mistake I'll realize it and work it in the future. that's what this year is to me.

Actually, I got Santana, not Robby. :D
It was tough giving Dunn up, simply b/c of his $23 salary. He was a steal during the draft that nobody noticed me grabbing. He can certainly be kept for his 40HR potential, and then compensate for him with an Ichiro or some other .320+ hitter....
But like Steve said - it IS only week 3. Many things can happen. If you would have told me 3 years ago that within a few years Wood and Zito were going to be trade filler, I would have thought you were crazy.
