Remarkable what some of the old time pitchers did.
Spahn, one of the most durable pitchers of all time, routinely pitched batting practice between starts. He occasionally worked in relief between starts. He finished his brilliant career with 382 complete games. Pedro Martinez has pitched in 391 games in his career.
Makes me wonder, if guys weren't "babied" by taking them out after a certain inning or pitch count, what the result would be.

did anyone also look at the pitch counts in these games? I think most were in the 105-115 range. Not high.
