He took it the opposite way, a row back about 10 feet off the right foul pole.

Nice to see Sori swinging the bat well.

He's off to a good start swining the bat. Too bad he's still brutal in the field though.

Rangers got themselves a nice victory tonight. It's good to see that the Ranger bullpen can go toe-to-toe with the Angel bullpen while missing their top two setup men.

I was listening to the game on Angels Radio out here. Congrats to Sori. :)

Soriano always has a hot April. Eventually he'll put it back into Juan Samuel mode.

The Angels were pitching Brett Prinz...to major leaguers?

Hooray for Soriano, now all he needs is a few more hours of infielding drills to be a complete player :D Just kidding, glad to see he is healthy and doing well.

Good for him. The Rangers are on the cusp of becomming a really good team. If they can get a dominant pitcher in there, watch out for them. I for one hope they do because they are much more fun to watch then Anaheim.

I'm starting to warm up to the idea of signing Sori to play CF.

But then who would play CF in 2006?

He's not a FA until after next year.

Good point. Guess we'd have to trade for him.

How about we trade A-Rod for him and Blalock. Think they'd go for that? ;)

Glad to see Soriano can still sock 'em. The other mystery for me is if Bret Prinz (I called him "Prinz Eugen" after the WW2 German heavy cruiser) is still crossing himself before pitching. The way he got smacked around sometimes, he needed a priest.

I am as well.

Soriano is the future Yankees 2nd baseman. He's just paying his dues.

If he comes back to the Yankees, I see him moving to CF rather than 2nd base, no matter how much he protests. It's the position he should be playing. He's got too much athleticism to not play CF.

Soriano is not coming back to the Yanks to play a position he does not want to play. The one guy I would love to have back is Javy Vasquez. He can actually become a FA after the season since he was traded in the middle of a multi year contract. He would be a perfect replacement for Kevin Brown. Now, if only the Yanks can somehow get Coco Crisp as their CF, we'd be set.

That....and he can't field ground balls too well.

I've been wondering to ask you guys this. Just how bad was he at second base as a Yankee? He was pretty poor last year as a Ranger. Soriano almost cost the Rangers the game two days ago because of two defensive miscues late in the game.

The question is whether Javier would want to come back here.

Kotsay is probably the best short term option for the Yankees, that is if the A's don't pick up his option. They probably will though. That being said, I'd be open to having Soriano at CF as long as the price isn't too steep. One more year of Bernie in CF(love the guy to death, but as a DH/PH) and I'll puke.

Good range, but he tends to muff a lot of balls hit right at him (hence his poor FP) and he's extremely slow at turning the double play. I think he'd be much better in CF given his speed and range. Plus IIRC he has a decent arm.
