Keisler (L,1-1) 2 1-3 IP, 9 Hits, 8 Runs, 5 Earned Runs, 0 Walks, 0 Strike Outs, 1 Home Run

I wonder if he still thinks he "deserves" to be in the Major Leagues?

come one now. How about his outings prior to 4/27?

He's looked damn good in them. Yet no posts congratulating him?

Keisler is the real deal. Is it necessary to slam him for one bad outing in AAA? I don't think so.

Jeter has looked far worse than Keisler ever has...

You took the words out of my mouth (or fingers as I type). On the other hand, I do agree with Jim that you can't judge him by one outing. Given some time (& a confidence boost), he very well could be a solid major league starter. I wish him the best -- even if he was shaky & the Sox helped him out, he did get a win at Fenway in his ML debut last year that delivered the sweep, and was also crucial in winning the division (remember Sept.) ...

but imho, Ted Lilly's much better on the mound overall, so I think Randy might be spending some more time conquering AAA.

His start after being initially sent done was very good so this could just have been a bad outing.

So, he needs to settle down....too much energy & emotion to get out of his system. Someone will give him a good talking to about his behaviour & how much more he needs to do before he truely is ready to play in the majors & then we'll see if he can hack it mentally.

He better, because we sure don't need another Nelson on this team...well, at least, the Nelson who walked a lot of guys and then mouthed off and never took blame for runs scoring or a less, always believing that he had "pitched well."

Columbus Dispatch said Steinbrenner was up in Columbus 4/27 & 4/28 to See Keisler and A Hernandez pitch. The Boss denied he would trade Soriano but rumors were abound re: trade of Keisler to the Reds for Dennys Reyes -pitcher (hope I have that name correct!) Boss did not comment on trade of Keisler. Adrian pitched 7+ innings for the win. His ERA is now 2.63 Nick Johnson is hitting well and I was happy to see that D'Angelo Jimenez had some RBI's as he had been hitting below 200.Interesting to see that George is in Ohio!

Randy says he's conquered Triple A. I guess he's so bored he just can't concentrate.

Randy may even have major league stuff. What Randy lacks at this point is a major league (or even Triple A) attitude. Both his breaking ball and his attitude are totally out of control. He very, very badly needs to grow up. The way he's acting doesn't make one hopeful.

FYI... He was misquoted.....he never used the word "conquered"... instead what he did say was that he had proven himself already in AAA......but regardless of which word was used....he was out of line and he knew it when he calmed down and got a grip. He apologized to Joe Torre and the entire Clipper team and showed courage and maturity in going back to Columbus to face the music and the cold shoulder treatment. Most of you only know him as a pitcher, but I also know him as a person......and he is no smart alec .....but he is high spirited and has a lot of spunk........just a little too intense sometimes and after all ......all his hopes and dreams and everything he's worked for all his life is on the line.........imagine the pressure all of the young rookies must feel ......whew.....I needed to vent ;)

keisler had been doing just fine at AAA until that game. i'm sure it was just one of those things.... sometimes guys are going to be at the wrong end of a blowout; it happens to everyone.

i know everyone gets a little wound up because of what he said, but i'd rather have him confident in his ability than saying things like he deserved to be demoted to AA or something. he has some nice stuff....

i remember lilly getting bombed once or twice in relief last season, and he's thrown three nice games for us so far this year. sometimes you just can't tell with these guys.
