The Auction is the most intense and important part of this league. It is what you do a ton of research for before the season. Yes you want Jeter, but how much are you willing to pay for him? $26? What if you're at $25 and someone raises you to $26, do you go past your limit and bid $27?

The Auction is going to be a great and fun time, but it is crucial that everyone is there; its not like a draft league where if you don't show up your team gets drafted a default roster. If you don't show up in an auction league you not only won't have a team, but you may actually affect the league for others. Because of this, we need to set a date that everyone can commit to.

Please post the days that you can (or cannot) make it.

We've basically decided that it will be done on a weekday after work and at night, so that everyone has a chance to get home, kiss the wife, play with the kids, walk the dog, eat dinner, kick the girlfriend out, etc.

There have been two main suggestions so far:

Wednesday March 9th

and

Wednesday March 16th

Please give me your feedback so we can hit the ground running!

I have am in a Hold Em tourney every Wednsday. I'd prefer to not have to cancel if at all possible. Any other weekday is fine with me.

Ok, I'm good basically every evening EXCEPT for Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and all day most days on Saturdays and Sundays (I'll cancel stuff if I have to.) I'm also available all day on most Fridays if I have advance notice. :)

Its going to have to be at night sometime because most of us can't block out several hours during the worday.

Wednesday the 9th is no good? Under any circumstances?

I would be more than willing to do it on a Tuesday or Thursday evening. I just need at least an hour for my commute.

I have a 6:00 to 9:00 class on Wednesdays and a 5:30-8:30 class on Tuesdays, and including my commute back home I get home around 9:45-10:00 on Wednesdays, so unless we wanted a really, really late draft I would have to say no. Other than Tuesdays and Wednesdays, though, like I said, any other night at 7 or 8 or whatever would be perfect for me.

I wouldn't have a problem that I can forsee (or that I couldn't avoid) on March 3rd. We would have to get payments in my then, though, to make sure that everyone pays, I would think. :)

Looks like this is the best available date so far...

but, I could also on the 6th or the 20th (after Palm Sunday church).

Or Friday the 18th, but I thought that was nixed?

March 3rd looks pretty damn good...

And the 6th is a Sunday, which is nice...

The three possible dates being discussed are:

Thursday March 3rd
Sunday March 6th
Monday March 7th

The thing about this is it's not just the majority..we need everyone to be able to be there, because you can't have a draft robot at an auction league, from what I understand.

Any of those dates work for me, my only issue is I'm on the west coast - 3 hours behind most of the rest of you guys.

Good news is I get out of work at 3PM (6PM Eastern Time) so you don't have to wait too long for me. I should be ready to go by 4PM or so (7PM Eastern).

I assume this is going to be at night? I should have said before-I'm not available till about 6 on Monday the 7th. I assume that won't be a problem, as most people here who work won't be getting home until then or later, either. :)

Also, we might want to test MHHL's chat, to make sure that it can handle all of the people who will be there that night.

Yeah, Soriambi and I loaded it up with about 15 or so "people" and it worked fine.

There shouldn't be a limit. Also, if you're going to "admin" it, you can use bold, underline and italic tags to highlight things that you are saying (like calling out player names)

AH-HA! I was trying to figure that out, but I was using the commands for the forum!

Is there any way to lock the bolding in?

I don't believe so. You can probably just open tag and not close it
