and some people still wonder why many athletes are hated. this guy just should not speak. can't he ever just be positive and not make it about him? why cant their be more receivers like Larry Fitzgerald who just shut up and play the game. and it is the same in every sport now. see, this whole "No Fun League" is a bunch of crap. people love football for the sport, at least I do. the more athletes open their mouths, the more they disappoint me. and it is har to just ignore them, since everyone reports what they say all teh time.

Upon going through the article pretty quickly, I don't really see anything all that wrong with what he said. Every top receiver, especially the really big possession guys who believe they're open every single time, wants the d*mn ball ALL the time, and I'd say many, if not most, are pretty vocal about it.

It's just that TO doesn't keep stuff within the team. He will tell the press anything.

I really really really really really can't stand this guy. He is such a egotistical asshole who only cares about himself. I must admit that the Cowboys thing and the Sharpie thing was funny, but after the BS he pulled with the Ravens, it was over. And now to keep complaining?? Hey T.O. go F yourself. I hope he tears his ACL in his first game back.

broken neck is different from torn ACL. I guess I should just be happy when the Eagles choke again and be done with it. Sorry if I offeneded anyone, but Owens rubs me the wrong way - epitome of the spoiled athelete.

Despite the fact that I'm a Cowboys fan and his star shenanigans really pissed me off, I didn't at all hate him until last offseason either. :dunno:

Have you ever been to his website? He types in 12-year-old-girl internet speak. :thatsodd:

What an ass. I didn't hear him say anything a few weeks ago when Sean Taylor of the Redskins beat him up for the entire game. If Philly makes it to the Super Bowl and TO plays, he'll get the same treatment from the Steelers or the Patriots.

The problem is that it isnt just this one time. I mean, you could ask him (and like I said, a number of athletes JUST like him) who they thought was going to be the next country to land on the moon, and their answer would be, "maybe China, but TO doesnt get the ball enough. TO is God." The point is that, you know, the article could have been about his recovery and hope that he will be able to play in the Super Bowl, but no, he has to start talking that he was frustrated that he wasnt getting the ball. It always comes back to them, period. its why i hate the guy, and all professional athletes like him. it is why I will never understand why people support Kobe Bryant. the guy is an ass who cheats on his wife, rats out his friends, and yet everyone was chearing for him when he played against shaq on xmas.

That's horrible, man. T.O. is great. He's an amazing player who's having fun playing the game. The BS he pulled with the Ravens? Kinda like RJ saying he won't play for anyone else except for the Yankees...i think so.

I love T.O. The man is happy to play for a team going to the SB and you could tell it yesterday. Firing up the crowd, pumping up his teammates on the sidelines.

He brought a swagger to the Eagles. Notice how confident they felt? Remember Freddie Mitchell's post-game press conference 2 weeks ago? I doubt he does that if T.O. never came. He made a difference on the field and off. I'd take him on the Giants.

When you look up ass in the dictionary, there will be 3 pictures there,

Kobe Bryant, the 2004 Boston Red Sox, and Terrell Owens. TO is an ass, and should shut his damn mouth. I hate players that demand they get the ball more to the media :cough:Keyshawn Johnson:cough:.

The league needs guys like T.O. for controversy and media discussion stuff. Imagine if every NFL player was like Tiki Barber, it would be the classiest league in the world and also the most boring league ever.

Let him talk. The more he talks, the more the Patriots enjoy it. :D

If and when he gets on the field, Asante Samuel or Rodney Harrison will be more than willing to say hello then.

Owens will probably have to sign a waiver if Reid does not let him play due to the team doctor not giving him clearance...is this strictly for the good of the team, for the good of TO or both?

Andy Reid handled this poorly.

FWIW I think TO is irrelevant if the Pats bring their "A" game.

I have to admit I got a chuckle out of this whole circus of the past few days, comparing it to the Cone of Silence that enshrouds Gillette Stadium. :P

I like the article on ESPN.com talking about how TO just wants to be in the picture. He can't imagine not being a story in the biggest sports game of the year. He just has to be involved somehow. Sportscenter isn't complete without him in his eyes. I think if Andy Reid had any sense he'd shut him up, or crack him in the ankle with a baton to ensure a definate answer about his status.

He should do what Parcells did to Wayne Chrebet back in the day, when Chrebet had a bad ankle, and Parcells just walks over and kicks him on the anke. Rememeber that?

taken from poster "Oil Can Boyd" on the SoSH site:

TO Update:

Of course it's impossible for any of us to know what's *really* going on, but reports indicate that TO went through a 30 minute workout today which included him cutting hard on his busted ankle. Apparently TO is doing very well and he's due to join the Eagles for full practices next week. A quote from TO after todays workout: "And nobody said I could do it".

Clearly TO hasn't "done it" yet, but with a TO at even 75%, this game changes dramatically, IMO. His contributions aside, he opens the offense up for the rest of the bunch.

What's wrong with wanted to be involved? He was such a huge part of the season thats its obviously natural to want to play in a SUPER BOWL.

Freddie Mitchell should be quiet too. I wonder what he has for Rodney Harrison?
Who cares what T.O. says-he's another loud-mouthed self-absorbed athlete who I am learning it is better to ignore than to get annoyed by. :)

"That's pretty funny coming from a guy who doesn't start unless someone goes down. Means a lot coming from him." - Rodney Harrison

Also, from SportsCenter: "If he's (Mitchell) on this team, I'm retiring."

Gotta love Rodney.

I like T.O. He cracks me up even though he is annoying as hell. T.O. is a stud receiver. Freddie Mitchell needs to shut up because he isn't good enough to talk smack.

The more any of you Players open your mouths, the more ammunition you give to the Pats. You should just put a ZIPPER on it until after the game when you're holding the Trophy, then you can say anything you want, but until that happens, keep your comments to yourself!

sometimes players just cant win

John Abraham gets MURDERED in the media for sitting out playoff games with a sprained knee and because he mentioned about "protecting his future"

T.O. is probably gonna go play with 2 screws in his ankle....a metal plate on the outside of his ankle....obviously not caring much about his future but wanting to play in the ultimate game and try to help his team win.....and yet the media kills him???

I dont get it....i just dont understand the fans and the media sometimes....players just cant win no matter what they do

NYPenn

Freddie Mitchell making Rodney Harrison mad. Go, Freddie!

Of course there's nothing wrong with Owens wanting to play. The problem is him running his mouth 24/7. Of course the Patriots love that... anything that takes the cameras off them is a Good Thing. :D

So perhaps the Patriots have the right idea with their policy of NOT TALKING about their injuries. All information comes from the top, and the players don't get in trouble for saying one thing or the other.

Case in point - Richard Seymour. He's been hurt throughout the playoffs, but his only response to repeated questioning has been smiles and "I can't talk about that." Consequently, nobody is questioning his fortitude.

I dont get it....i just dont understand the fans and the media sometimes....players just cant win no matter what they do I agree. The most of the media and some fans are just total hyprocites. I thought Abraham did the right thing. I think T.O. is being foolish trying to play, but given the crap alternatives at receiver for the Eagles, I can't blame him for trying.
