View Full Version : Will the Giants win again this season?

I think this weekend is there last real shot at victory and I'm still not confident. This team is looking worse each week.

I figure they'll take two of three from the Cowboys, Redskins and Bengals.
When they went with Eli, they gave up on the season...his starts will eventually pay off in the future. One problem with the Giants is no #1 pick next year...
I would think the Giants would win a game or two before the end of the season...but I didn't look at their schedule...

They'll win again...and they'll start this week. Washington is going downhill even faster than they are.

They aren't winning on 1/2.
They have to lose this Sunday. I'm not commenting on who this means has to win :barf: ...they just have to lose.

They have a chace to win both of their remaining NFC games because they are not that much worse than anyone else in that conference (except Philly).

We're a game back in the wild card. With Julius back, we should start playing like we should have been playing all season, at least offensively. The teams in front of us: Minny can collapse any second. The Rams have been so unpredictable all season, who knows? And the Giants are on the skids, especially with the rookie QB--no matter how great he may turn out to be, he isn't close right now, especially with the line finally playing to it's (lack of) abilities. And their defense has lost some key dudes.
The NFC after Philly and Atlanta is so ridiculously bad, it's...ridiculous!
It ain't over 'til it's over...

Julius Jones is not a big time back. He had one big game. I'd like him to do it for a whole season. The Bears gameplan was, if they were going to get beat, they were going to get beat by the run. They did. Once teams start expecting a run from the Cowboys, his yardage will go down.

Amazing that with a Giants win and a Rams loss, the Giants would have a 1 game lead in the playoff race.
Amazing to say that considering there is a portion of us who believe the Giants will not win another game this season.

He's got nice burst. The little over 2 games he's played aren't enough to make the assessment you made.
At the very least, he's infinitely better than Eddie George and Richie Anderson, and better than Troy Hambrick.

Yeah, they'll win again.
I think they can beat Washington, Dallas and Cincinnati
All I know is SD is loving the Giants #1 draft pick if this keeps up...could be a top 10 or even top 5 the way it's going...

Sad ain't it.
If the Giants win 1 game, I'll be happy. If they win 2 more games, I'll be suprised.

Thanks, Mark! I'm cautiously optimistic. Indy is scaring me a bit. I'm considering finding tickets and going there for the 12/26 game. Should be a great game....I hope. Glad your boys lost today----for your pick's sake. :D

I blame you for the Giants losing today, that's right...YOU! Its not natural for a Cowboy fan to want the Skins to win. You caused the entire game to spin of its natural axis.

I said nothing of the sort! I said the Giants had to LOSE, and, like my younger brother says, "When the Redskins win, everyone loses." (I've taught him well. ;) )

Atleast the Giants will be in 2nd this year.
Pathetic, 2nd place in the NFC East will have a losing record.
This teams needs ASS LOADS of help. Recievers, Defense, Offensive line. EVERYTHING. This is an awful team right now.

I know this is cheap, but I waited until now to vote.
The only winnable game they have is Dallas, at home and the finale, and I have serious doubts about that game as well.
They won't win until the Fall of 2005. :(

I love 'em, but they suck.

I was at the game yesterday. The Giants looked absolutely pathetic. I had to endure abuse from drunk Redskins fans throughout the game. I wouldn't have minded so much except for the fact that I'm not even a Giants fan. But I was foolish enough to wear my Yankees cap to the game, so I guess the drunk skins fans just assumed. In any event, if the Giants play the rest of their games like they did yesterday, they will not win again.

One of the refs for yesterday's game is a friend of my father, he said the Giants had no passion and played lazy football the whole game.
I'm not going to either of the home games left. &po'd&

Due to your anti-Giant mojo I am pulling hard for Walrus Man and the Seahawks tonight. (Yeah, I'm bitter after the 5-2 start...sue me :) )

*I* have one for each game. My father has another, my grandfather has 2, my uncles/assorted other family members have 13 more. (We roll in there strong ;))
I have ethical issues about giving them to no-good Cowboy fans, but you seem like a good kid and a good (although misguided) football fan. ;) I could probably come up with a few for you...how many are you interested in?

Good thing the Giants got rid of Jim Fassell, because it's pretty obvious he was the problem. Idiots. Watching the Giants is like riding Amtrak - you know you're going to derail, it's just a matter of time.

The sad part is Eli isn't the problem, the team round him just sucks. Flat out sucks. And Eli gets the blame.
I was out late last so I took a nap when the Giants were down 10-0.
Woke up and it was 30-7. The nap was my best decision today.

So Manning shouldn't get any blame for being significantly worse than Warner was?

The team was also a lot better when Warner had the ball. Injuries kill this team. Who's even on the offensive line now? Snee has been out the last two weeks, the defensive line has been beat up, recievers aren't catching the ball for Eli. They aren't responding for Eli or the coach.
Of course, as I type this, Barber scores with a drive led by Warner. But I still believe Eli isn't to blame.

The Giants' season has become a joke. Accorsi has to get better offensive linemen next year-is there a worse unit in the NFL?

He's a rookie. He'll have his growing pains. He was still the best decision for this team. The whole team right now is putrid.

In a schadenfreude sortaway, I love watching the Giants. 3 turnovers in the 1st quarter? Sign of a champion.

I don't know...but I can only imagine how badly Pittsburgh's D front is going to manhandle them next week...yikes.

The biggest question for NY Giants fans is should Tom Coughlin keep Eli Manning in there?

He would get killed by the media...when he went to Manning he gave up on the season with the attempt to build Eli up for the future...to turn back now would be a big mistake...
on a bright note, the Giants #2 draft pick has been moving up...

Keep Eli in the field. Kurt Warner wouldn't really increase our chances of winning, people forget he probably would've set the single season sack and fumble record if he stayed.

Hopefully they'll get someone to buff up that horrific offensive line...
It's one of those rare occassions when pre-season analysts obsess over a problem and that just happen to be the problem that plagues the team all season long. It's usually difficult to predict NFL outcomes, but this one seems right on....sadly.
