Thanks for the heads up. I'll definitely be ordering this one next week. This should also help me answer some of the questions I had in the LD% thread.

More sneak peaks at the book, this time for balls in play by batter:
http://www.hardballtimes.com/main/article/who-hit-what/
i think this says a lot:
Player Team PA K%
Branyan R. MIL 182 37%
Ross D. LAD 190 33%
Clark T. NYY 283 33%
Clark tied for 2nd place in K% with at least 100 PA.
but his defense makes up for it

Look at where Posada and Giambi rank in the walk rate. Man, if Giambi can even come close to being as good as he was in 2003... :ga-ga:
The only types of batters missing from this list are the top line drive batters: Frank Catalanotto (22%), Brent Mayne (21% in Arizona) and Mr. Nomar Garciaparra (21% in Boston).
That makes it sound like it is a hitter's skill, but we'll see...

Minor League coverage, by Bryan Smith
A review of the best and worst fantasy players, by Ben Jacobs
Craig Burley reviews the college baseball season, and includes THT's official college team, batter and pitcher rankings.
Craig also reviews the Japanese baseball season.
And Robert Dudek investigates how fly ball hang time impacts the evaluation of pitching and defense.
And of course all the stats and graphs.

Interesting stuff. Despite getting lit up in the postseason, I wouldn't be totally against the signing of Odalis Perez. IMO he is the best young pitcher on the market right now and the fact that he had a poor post-season will only cheapen his signing. He is a lefty, has a very good Ground to Flyball ratio (1.62), and was one of the best at not giving up line drives, MO was at 8%. Sorry for getting off topic, I do plan on getting a copy of my own....
Well, where is it damnit?! :) The week has taken forever...

i know, it's the first thing I checked when i woke up today.
It's up guys! Get your copy here! (http://www.lulu.com/content/85596)
Wait, do I want print or online? Online is cheaper and if there's tables, then there's no data entry for a spreadsheet, but is still crummy compared to a nice book. What are you guys gonna do?
EDIT: I'm going DL, since the book basically looks like bunch of standard 8.5 x 11 print anyway.

Thanks for letting us know.
I'm going with print since it's over 300 pages long.

I'm going with print since it's over 300 pages long. The college gives us 200 free pages per quarter to print with, a double sided 300 page book turns out to be 150 full sheet worth of print, giving me more than enough left over. Imagine the look on the computer lab guys face when I print out this mother. :)

So they put it in one of the previews but not the book? I haven't gotten (that doesn't sound right) mine yet, but hopefully it will be here in a couple days.
Found another player not listed in the book: Cha Seung Baek (http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?statsId=7398) (SEA). He met the 100 TBF mark (he had 139), but was not on the list. Only this one I don't see a source for. Not like you'd want to have him on the list, but what the heck, I'm a fact checker. :)
Get BIS on the phone right now! J/K ;)
Actually, make that another. The always lovable Sidney Ponson (http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?statsId=5984) (BAL) also isn't on the list... Probably because all of his pitches resulted in the same slow-motioned reaction as Big Sid looks up into the sky in Baltimore and sees the ball sail over the fence.
