Under the current agreement, there will be no salary cap for the 2007 season.

I hate the cap, but revenue sharing in football? I don't want Jerry Jones, who works so hard to put everything he's got into the team on and off the field (I've always thought he was a salary-capped version of Steinbrenner) and just wants to win, to have to share one penny with the rich owners of the perennially crappy franchises like Arizona. As it is right now, a bunch of teams don't even meet the cap as a ceiling (for some reason, Philly has made this work for a few years now).

They do have to do something to get the players more guaranteed money, though. As it is right now, because of the cap, NFL contracts are more status symbols than an indicator of how much a player will actually make for the duration of the contract.

Agreed.

Common sense says that the Colts will be in LA in 2006 and a new stadium on the way.

Will Jim Irsay cry "poverty" then?
