View Full Version : Fantasy dilemma - C-Mart, Tiki, Mewelde Moore - who sits?

Damn, it's an embarrassment of riches in my backfield! At least Jamal Lewis is suspended right now so he's not making the choices even harder!

Anyway, now that Minn. is saying that Moore (who I picked up last week to sit in for Tiki's bye) will start I'm leaning heavily towards sitting Curtis. Curtis has done next to nothing vs New England in their last 5 meetings, rushing for 100 only once and scoring a total of zero TDs. But damn, it sure feels wrong to sit the league's leading rusher for some upstart 4th stringer who's never been in the end zone in his career.

So, am I wrong? Is benching Curtis going to bite me in the ass?

I wouldn't bench Curtis, but then again I've LOST FIVE fantasy Super Bowls so what the ................ do I know? :)

I'll try to post some more intelligent analysis here later in the week before I GO TO GREEN BAY!!!! WooHoo!!!!! :gulp:

Tennessee is middle of the pack in run D, at 109 a game and 6 TDs. New England is only slightly worse per game, at 111, but has only given up 3 rushing TDs.

Not per recpetion, but 1 point for every 10 yards receiving.

And Detroit is right in between them, so my three backs will face the 14th, 15th, and 16th ranked running defenses. Go figure. But the thing is, Curtis doesn't have much success against the Pats. The last 5 times he's faced them he's averaged 70 yards rushing, 15 yards receiving, and 0 TDs. That's 8 points per game in my league, not enough of a contribution from a RB. And with Santana Moss likely slowed by his hamstring the Pats will be able to cheat just a bit on the run.

Maybe I'm overanalyzing.... :dunno:

I really don't know what to tell you. It seems like such a wash that I'd probably just go with Curtis. I hate this kind of decision making.

Man, I wish I had this problem in my leagues...

It's pretty much a coin flip between the two. Moore is averaging over 70 receiving yards per game in his starts but Randy Moss is questionable for this week. If he's out then Tennessee could probably cheat on the run too.

See, this is my biggest effing weakness as a fantasy player. I figure ................ like this out and then talk myself out it over and over and over again.

Curtis - 70 yds rushing, 0 yds rec, 0 TD - 7 points in my lineup.
Moore - 138 yds rushing, 38 yds rec, 0 TD - 16 points on the bench.

Noooo, can't start the upstart 4th stringer over the future Hall of Famer, no matter how likely it is that the 4th stringer will score more points. Always go with the proven veteran over the hot up and comer. I did the same exact thing last week when I started Favre over Leftwich.
