Hey Yankee fans,it's great to be here at home.As you can see I am LL78,in tribute to the greatest one season of pitching my generation ever saw in The Stadium.1978,Rapid Ron Guidry.True Yankee fans will know what LL stands for and if lucky enough remember the beauty of 28-3,and the greatest Yankee win in history up in Beantown in The Playoff.Hats off to Yankee baseball,Yankee tradition, and Yankee Championships.Hats off to the excitement in Yankee Stadium with 2 strikes on the batter and LL on the mound and 50,000 fans up and rocking the house that Ruth built knowing another one's going down.Nobody brought 50,000 up off the seats so often in one game.
LOUisiana Lightning,a True Yankee.
Hey, welcome, enjoy...stick around a while. :)

Welcome LL78...how could anyone not love Guidry? I'm still amazed what came out of that little frame....I watched a game on ESPN classic where he was pitching last year, and it brought back so many memories...it was the game where he had all those strikeouts and the fans started clapping on 2 strikes...I think that's where that tradition started, but I could be wrong!
Anyway, Happy Posting!! :)

LL78 - great name - Guidry was always my favorite and '78 was one of the best years for a pitcher ever. I think he was the one who started the tradition of clapping on 2 strikes, too.
Welcome aboard - have fun! :)

Welcome, LL......
LL struck out 19 Angels in a game that year, right? I remember that year was amazing. One of his 3 losses was
1-0 to Baltimore (I think Dicences hit a HR) -- tough loss.
During the World Series, Reggie Jackson was asked, with the Yanks down 2 games to none to LA, who was going to pitch game 3. Reggie answered, in referring to Guidry, "Cy Young..."
I was at Game 3. Guidry was not overpowering, but the Yanks won because of Nettles fantastic plays at 3rd.
