And I also meant to say, meggie, that I am so glad that you feel "at home" here. I was unhappy with the way that "other" Yankees messageboards were run and had become like a big Junior High School Class. This board will be 99.9% about BASEBALL.

And unlike "other" messageboards, this is here for the users, therefore I am totally open to any suggestions that you might have. If you don't like the way something is, tell me, and I will definitly consider changing it.

With that, the fact that you say you feel comfortable means a lot to me, I put tons of effort into getting this place up and running, and it feels great to know that people are enjoying it already. I hope it only continues to get better!

No, UAB, my intention isn't for this to become a "bash Yankees.com" board. I wouldn't have wasted all this time and money if that's all it was. There is a free version of this forum software, and this isn't it. In other words, the sole purpose of this site is to talk about Baseball. Will Yankees.com be mentioned, probably. But that is life. As I said, 99.9% is about baseball. What that other .1% is, I'm not exactly sure yet.

First, I'd like to say thank you for your compliments. Second, I'd like to say that I am setting up a "general" baseball section, for the sole purpose of "other" teams. The forum rules will not be too strict at first, in other words, I won't be moving topics to different forums unless they are totally non-baseball related. Other than that, you are more than welcome to post WHATEVER you want to post.

Never did get the ball, couldn't negotiate..I think I upset the seller, who as luck would have it was a sox fan..oh well...me, a junior member...the shame..

Everybody is a member as soon as you sign up. I have it set at 50 posts for you to become a "Forum Regular". I always thought the whole Junior Member thing was kind of rude, so instead of demeaning new people, I decided that I would rather reward people who contribute alot to the forum. In my opinion, nobody is "less" of a member because they are new.

Very interesting. I for one, am extremely bothered by the fact that *this* forum had to be created because the "Official" Yankees forum was a bunch of crap. I totally understand what you mean, and unfortunatly, the Yankees Organization unknowingly put the "online image" of themeselves in the hands of a completely inept, immature, borish person. And it has ruined that teams image in the eyes of myself, and many other people, such as yourself.

Will anything be done about it? No.

It will continue to degrade until it has become *totally* worthless, and soon turn into the "AOL" of the discussion forums. They always stress the point that they have 5,000 members, but you have to realize, that I personally was responsible for at least 30 of those names, as I'm sure others are too. And of those *active* 5,000 members, it seems a majority of them have flocked either here, or to BaseballBoards.com. That should be an indication to the management over there.

To that extent, XZavier, I am glad that I was able to provide a place for you to come and talk "intelligent" Yankees Baseball.

It's being run by someone who has his own personal agenda and God help you if you have the audacity to have a mind of your own...someone who had a post running a couple of weeks ago on smokers vs. non-smokers with over 200 posts most of them his own! Is that unreal or what? I really question his sanity. XZ...if I were you, I most definitely would file a complaint with the Yankees. Obviously, this guy cannot STAND to have ANYONE disagree with him, or criticize him. Talk about egotistical! I find it sickening. Did he give you a warning? Did he tell you how many strikes you had against you (ask ansky39 all about that!)? Well, I heard he reads this forum. Even though I posted very little other there, I am sure after reading this I will be banned, too. One reason it would bother me, as you say, I've supported my team monetarily over the years, too, and to think that he has the power to ban someone just like that because he doesn't like what they write?...because they don't fit into some cookie cutter mold he has designed? He has alienated a lot of people...nice people...and I personally am offended by his high-handed manner. He himself attacks people, but oh he does it ever so slyly and then sticks a smiley face in thinking that makes everything all right. I really didn't want to get into bashing him, but as far as I'm concerned he brought it upon himself.

I just wanted to mention that I was officially given the heave-ho from the Yankee.com forum. Not that I had any intention of leaving anymore posts, but someone over there made that decision for me. It doesn't really bother me that I can't post there anymore. What does bother me is that someone made that decision for me. It shows that someone over there dislikes hearing the truth, and made efforts to keep me from further speaking it. In my final post I said that it would be my last post. However, I would have liked to retain the right to speak in my behalf in the case that someone should bring arguement to what I had to say. That right was taken away from me on the website of an organization that I have supported monetarily, and even worked for over the past 30 years or so. I think it is pathetic, what the "official" forum of the N.Y. Yankees has turned into. I truly wish somebody from the organization would take a look at what they have there, and make the necessary changes.
