I figured I'd start a thread like this where everyone can say the pros and cons from their perspective on the first pre-season game. As a Jets fan, I was pretty happy. I only watched the first half because the Yankee game came on and also because I really only cared about the first string players. The pros were that Pennington looked very good and although I missed part of his first drive, I saw a nice pass to Anthony Becht I believe he had a pass to Justin McCareins which I missed. Curtis Martin also had 3 rushes for 20 yards including a 14 yard gain. He looked good. On defense, we were tackling, which we didn't do all last season. Ellis and Abraham looked good and put pressure on their QB and DeWayane Robertson had 1 good pressure. Vilma had a good open field tackle which made me smile also. And, Jon McGraw had an interception. I think if he can stay healthy, he will be a very good player. The last positive I can remember was that Lamont Jordan looked REALLY good.
Now for the cons. Well, the main con was Bollinger, our inexperienced backup QB. In his first 2 drives he fumbled the ball and didn't handle a snap properly which resulted in a turnover. After that he looked allright but if Pennington went down and Bollinger had to take over, our season is over. No doubt about it.
