from the article:

"That's awesome," said Millar. "Me and Tejada, wow. I'm not a good enough player to be in there."
All Millar did over the course of the week was lead the league with a .583 average, six homers, 32 total bases, a 1.333 slugging percentage and an on-base percentage of .615.

Boy, did I eat some crow this past week. Not only was I complaining to high heaven about Kevin online (re: the Sox rant thread) but I was giving every one of my friends an earful about how useless he had become, particularly in the field. Well Kevin, I think this situation could most aptly be described with a quote from the cinamatic masterpiece, Dumb and Dumber... "Just when I thought you couldn't get any dumber, you go and do something like this.............and totally redeem yourself!"

it isnt surprising he got that award....he is finally starting to hit the ball. I find it funny that Red Sox fans blame him for most of their problems. Some blamed him for losing the Curt Schilling game because Curt didnt cover first base. If Curt covered first, Sierra would have been out. He hits 3 homeruns and people still find ways to blame him.

PS He did deserve the award.

Who was that guy, and what did he do with the real Kevin Millar?

"Co-" whatever is such a pansy way of picking it. Unless they have exactly the same numbers, one was better. He's the player of the week.

I thought the same thing, but then I saw his defensive skills at first base and knew it was Millar.

This will probably be the last time Millar will be called MVP of anything. So enjoy it sox fans. :finger1:

He wasn't called "MVP". The award is "Player of the Week"

:barf: As much as it pains me to admit it, he was fantastic last week and unstoppable against the Yankees. Damn I miss the days when all the Sox fans were calling for his head. He's going to be yapping away more than ever now. Please go back to obscurity Millar.

Most Sox fans are sick of his large mouth cowboy act as well. But if he keeps hitting like this I can't complain...even if he did alienate Nomar and diss my favorite catcher of all time Douglas Mirabelli in spring training.

I wonder if Millar had mixed feelings about going after A-Rod...since he wanted to play with him so much in the offseason...this guy has to shut his mouth and just hit.
