Sounds good, maybe I'll check it out on mlb.tv.

More impressively than Molina's homerun though, Ortiz TRIPLED in the 1st. That's something you don't see everyday...

I have it on in the background. I have the Angels' feed and you would not believe how often they mention the Yankees is a game that doesn't feature the Yanks. They've been doing it all weekend!

Ortiz tripled? I guess he didn't score though.

Well, let's hope the Angels give us a little hand today since we didn't help ourselves at all.

He was safe by a mile too. Shrek chugging around the bases.

the one thing this angel lineup does that the yankees dont that makes them scarier ... is that they dont K often, they battle bad pitches and always put it in play.

I'm shocked about Lackey today... hopefully the Angels offense will give him more than a one run cushion.

The one thing I hate about NESN is that they make the Red Sox out to be this UNBEATABLE team. And when you do something to them they take the 'got lucky' or 'that is rare' approach. Jesus give the other teams credit. At least the YES announcers give the opposing teams credit.

The Angels aren't giving him much more than that one run it seems... he needs to hold it... c'mon Lackey!

Damon walks, and Bellhorn singles. Runners on 1st and 2nd with one out and now the big man Ortiz is up.

I knew after the walk that it was over.

Are you talking about Remy and Orsillo? If so, I would disagree.

The announcers. If you don't even know the names you can't watch the NESN games much, so I doubt you have much to go on.

It makes Ortiz's eruption the other night even worse, having him miss games is really going to hurt the team.

Well that HR sucked. Down by 2. It's not like the Sox bullpen is lights out ....still have 3 1/2 innings left.

Yeah, but Schill's only at 84 pitches through 6, so he's good for at least another inning, probably 2...

why wasn't schilling ejected after hitting molina?

That is a good question. I like that he hit him after Nomar got hit, but he should have been ejected. The NESN guys were wondering the same thing.

IIRC, BOTH benches were warned after nomar was plunked. thus, shouldn't schilling have been tossed out?

ahh, gotta love MLB umpires...

Yep, and there was no doubt it was intentional on Schilling's part.

Plus Molina had taken him yard earlier in the game. I was pretty shocked he wasn't tossed too...

You clearly haven't watched enough games broadcasted by Remy and Don to form an intelligent opinion. Remy and Don provide some of fairest broadcasts that I have seen. They point out flaws and positives in both teams. For example today they said that the Angels have a very strong bullpen so you want to do damage to their starters. They also make a point of praising Mike Scioscia for the excellent job he has done with the Angels, even saying that he is on of the best managers in baseball. They are both veteran broadcasters who would not have their job if they did what you described them to do.

I'd have to disagree...the TV (NESN) and radio (WEEI) announcers are definitely homers, but they're very fair and often give credit to good plays (and players) on the other team, including the Yankees. Remy's a good guy, and I haven't caught as many games this year with Sean McDonough announcing, but I always liked him a lot as an announcer, and this is from someone who *despised* his father and thought he was a total management toady and overall bush-league columnist.

IMO, The NESN crew is one of the better TV crews in baseball.

Even after the warning, the umps have discretion. If Schilling was hitting him on purpose, at least he and tek were smart enough to have tek set up inside. (When Nomar got hit, Molina's target was in the middle of the plate -- harder to believe that Lackey lost control given that.)

agreed. especially after listening to 4 games of Hudler and his partner. No insights, a lot of mistakes, etc.

Basically this goes back to what Joe was complaining about the other day... 'why go through the motions of giving warnings if they mean nothing? It's a sham'.
