View Full Version : Yanks fan from Rhode Island
Nice to see there's a forum where
true Yanks fans can rap and celebrate the team's long, storied history. I work in Mass. and I get alot of flack about where my loyalty should lie because I live closer to Mass. than N.Y. But I say I root for the team my great-grandfather rooted for. Back in the early 1930's there was no DiMaggios, Crosettis or Lazzeris playing for the Sox. So naturally, his loyalty lied with the team where an Italian could more closely identify with and that was the Yankees. Why spoil a good thing because I live near and work in Mass? It's not worth the heartache being a Sox fan. I leave that to the Massholes I work with. Go Yanks!
Massholes! I love it! :D
Welcome aboard :)

That's another thing I like about the Yankess...the variety of races.

hey, Pilla,
you're right about that! It's a varied bunch in here as much as on the field, and yet the strongest love in the world keeps us all together-- a deep and abiding love & devotion for the New York Yankees!!
I honestly don't believe that there could be even ONE person in this forum who is just a bandwagon fan that would skip out on the Yanks in a year or two... once the Bronx Bombers are in yer blood, yer DONE!
Welcome home! :NY:

I'm with the rest... Massholes is funny. Welcome aboard!
Welcome Pilla from Rhode Island!
My Grandparents (both sides) came from Italy too!
My father as he grew older would tell us about seeing the Yankees for the first time in ' 27 and how great Lazzeri was as well as Gehrig & Ruth! Although His Favorite Player was Lazzeri
I believe because of the Italian Brotherhood he must have felt!
Enjoy & Post On !

Hey cool.... We could always use a new Forumer from Rhode Island. It's a pretty big State with a lot of people, yet only about 80 Rhodey's around here. I'm glad you didn't use a name with Rhodey in it, cause it's darn hard to remember which is which when seeing Posts from those folks. I'd lay off the Massholes stuff though, that may get you in a heap of trouble. Anyway, have fun watching the All Star Game, it should be quite a showcase for the stars of today.
