View Full Version : Win Shares
Basic question...a win share equals 1/3 of a teams wins. So if a player has a win share of 30, he had a direct impact on 10 of his teams wins. Is that correct?
Also, how many win shares is considered a good amount?
Thanks.

1)You're right.
2)I guess it depends on what you consider good. Here are the 2003 AL Win Shares (http://www.baseballgraphs.com/winshares/alwinshares.html).

According to Neyer: "Roughly speaking, 30 Win Shares is an [sic] MVP-quality season..."

How does one measure to find out how many win shares a player gets in a given year?
