Let me introduce myself. I am 60-years-old. I have been a Yankee fan since 1949. I've seen great Yankee teams and lousy Yankee teams. I had the good fortune to see Joe D., Mick, Whitey, Yogi, Moose, Scooter, and the great teams of the 50's and early 60's. I also suffered through the Jake Gibbs, Horace Clarke, Jerry Kenney, Fritz Peterson horrors of the mid to late 60's.
I'm looking for folks who sat in the right field bleachers, next to the Yankee bullpen at the old Stadium during the 50's. We had a great group of folks from all over the greater NY area, and we all became good friends.
In any case, I look forward to talking to all of you. If any of you have any questions about the great Yankee dynasty from 1949 to 1964, I'll be glad to help with any answers I may have. Just as I would love to talk to any who watched the Yanks of the 30's and 40s.
Being realistic, 2001 will be a tough year. But I think there still might be enough fuel in the engine to make it to the finish line again.
