I should have put that as another disclaimer on Pedro.

OK, my serious answer:

Closer: Mo, Gagne

Reliever: Dotel

Starter: Prior, Pedro (with all previous disclaimers), Big 3 when they're really on

I think it has to be Prior, he is much better than Halladay in every aspect IMO.

If I owned a team:

SP: Prior
Closer: Billy Wagner
Middle Relief: Ryan Wagner (if he gets the closer job for the Reds, watch out)

Yeah, and he just inked a new two-year deal with the D-Rays.

My vote goes to Mark Prior.

All of Oakland's Big Three also deserve serious consideration.

Starter is Pedro if healthy, still has the best stuff, health the only question mark..

Closer is Mariano, hands down. You want a closer to shut the door on all comers and rise to even greater heights when the chips are down, and Mo does..

Greatest quote about him from Roger Clemens...

"Pick your two favorite superheroes of all time, and combine their powers. Mo is still better"

Wouldn't say Pedro, as he's soft and when you run his pitch count up to 100 he turns into Jeff Weaver. Is that the guy you'd want on the mound for you in a big game in October? After last postseason I don't know how anyone could say yes.

I'd probably go with Prior or Halladay

Thank you for giving the man his due.

He was real crappy as a starter. Being a closer lets him unleash all his hockey intensity in one inning. If it weren't for him, being a Dodgers fan would REALLY suck. More than it already does.

HOWEVER, every time Tracy tries to give him the ball outside a save situation you gotta fear the worst... Tie game and pre-9th inning Gagne appearances are some of the biggest nail-biting experiences I know in sports. As great as he is, I'm almost certain he couldn't have done what Mo did in ALCS Game 7, going out there and holding Boston's insane lineup scoreless for 3 innings.

SO... while Gagne is insane, and it's not easy to say since i think Gagne is the greatest thing since the glory Cowboys of the '90s :D , but the so consistent (and in big games too) it can be taken for granted Mo Rivera edges him out for me as closers go.

Starters-wise... Prior. So young. Such a beast.

btw if he keeps up what he was doing in LA last year, we got one of the best set-up guys out there in Quantrill.
