gammons says if san diego and san francisco don't work out for maddux (they won't, he says), there's a possibility that arizona will move some of mantei's contract and make a push for him.

I'm on it.

Gammons said Lofton will likely be signed by the Yanks today

&po'd&

It should be as a bench player

weaver is not going anywhere, so perez will be the LA pitcher traded for hitting. this according to boras.

kevin brown deal will be done, but they have to work out all the ancillaries in his contract (private jet, luxury box, etc) before it is completed. gammons said one or two days tops.

Gammons: Brown deal is done but will take another day or two to iron out all those crazy clauses in his contract.

He also says Weaver will stay in L.A. and it will be Odalis Perez dealt for pitching (surprising).

Jim Bowden says Sheff will happen.

Not a great price either. Lofton made around $1.2M last year

Lofton...The stop gap to Carlos Beltran. Cashman picked a good time to rekindle the Yankees' relationship with Boras...

I can live with Lofton for one year. He proved last season that he's still a productive player. Sori will finally be moved into a power slot. Watch him put up monster numbers...

I still wish an infielder would be brought in so Sori could be moved to the outfield, but as Sir Mick Jagger once said, "you can't always get what you want"...

yeah i know, that's way too much.

stark and gammons just said that boston upped their offer to foulke to $7 mil a year, while oakland is still at 4 yr/$22mil ($5.5/yr). gammons says it could go either way, stark thinks boston has the upper hand.

Scott Boras: A-Rod to Boston definitely can still happen.

that sounded so wishy-washy, though. of course he's going to say that. more telling, i think, is that no offer has been made and no meetings have been set.

gammon's latest "hot rumor" is that tejada won't go to detroit. wow.

Interesting...Maddux/Johnson, hmmm?

Pretty interesting show so far. Ought to be interesting to see if they can get any more rumours out.

stark says that while atlanta and the padres are most likely for jacque jones, look for a possible trade with arizona for mantei.
