It wasn't broke so I'm not so sure anything needed fixed.

BUT, we now have the NBA's leading rebounder to throw outlet passes to Alan "Rocker" Iverson.

Wow, the ONLY Philly team I ever cared about is looking pretty damn good right now.

Larry Brown HAS to be the frontrunner for the Coach of the Year (and perhaps a Nobel). He actually has I-I-Iverson playing like a team player this year!

Go Sixers!

And it's about to get better too......I think this puts Sixers in the "team to beat" category......At least in the East.....With the chemistry and ego problems the Lakers have, I wouldn't be surprised if they went all the way.

This could be better tandem then Shaq-Kobe. THe Sixers are the team to beat in the east and the Knicks are the team to beat them

The Sixer's just became the odds on favorite for the NBA Championship.

All Philly teams are near and dear to my heart... LOL! Especially the 1993 Mullet Phillies... (haha! My aunt thought Darren Daulton had a cute butt, anyone even know who he is? He caught)

As for Iverson, the MAN rules! He's a little ball greedy at times, but he RULES!

not impressed... look at the box score last night... iverson 47, no other player in double figures... mutombo ratliff str8 up woulda been a good deal, but giving up tony no dee kukoc was waaaay too much... in the playoffs, all you gotta do is focus on ONE scorer... i'll bet anyone anything sixers don't make it to the finals...

chelle

Ansky, shouldn't that be 27 in 2001? LOL!

Ansky,

I really believe Philly will win the championships, but I woke up last night at 2 AM and realized that I had made a rash error in judgement.

There are at least a dozen reasons why this website shouldn't be used for bets, the least of which is the example set to our young posters.

I regret my post but Hey, I do believe in Philly.

I hope you understand and don't think me a welcher.

Take care, chum.

ah man, i already had that $10 bucks spent ;)

it's kool nomes... but i'm sticking by my word, philly will not make the finals...

it's our year, as long as van gundy doesn't blow it, we got the team to go all the way in 2001...

i feel real good about my squad led by, action jackson, houston, spree, lj, cambyman, rice & thomas... maybe van "get off my leg" will even figure a way to get some minutes for our aussie mate longley...

as we say, GO new york Go new york GO!!!!

Well, while I still feel Philly will make the finals I will say I hope the Knicks do. Unfortunately the Knicks are extremely inconsistant and suffer from the lack of a strong center. But as they say, the games are played on the court and not on paper.

Mutombo still wasn't enough to stop Ray Allen and the Milwaukee Bucks. :):):)

ANYTIME you got LARRY BROWN as a head coach, his teams will be in the hunt, the guy is a great teacher, one of the very few if not the only coach to be great in college and the pro's. PHILLY is a scary young team, MUTOMBO could be the key to get you there, he's the best rebounder, and just a force on defense.

if i recall correctly, wasn't it this genius larry brown that banished jalen rose to the bench mumbling some bull about him being overrated... larry brown's a good coach, yes... but he's never won a nba championship, so i'd hold off on calling him a great nba coach... he ain't no daly, or riles or jackson... he ain't even a tomjanovich... he's more like an overrated wilkens... a guy who's been around long enough to have amassed 1,000wins, but no rings...

but that said, i'd still take him over van baldy...

Lenny Wilkens was good enough to win a Ring with Seattle in the 1978-79 season over the Washington Bullets.:D

yet brown's considered great and he hasn't won squat... that would make him in my humble view, "overrated"

As far as things go Brown isn't even a Van Gundy, for at least Van Gundy coached the Knicks to a finals appearance, something of which Brown has never done. I'm not saying Brown is a bad coach, just not a coach that has the appropriate ability to lead a team to a championship, never mind a finals appearance.
