View Full Version : Are The Johnnies Going To Make The Big Tourney?
The St. John's Red Storm are at 12-9 at this point of the season. March Madness is right around the corner, and there's a good shot they won't make it. Do you think they'll pull through?
I hope so...

The road isn't a friendly place, but St. John's is playing Miami, Villanova, and BC on the road--and they might need a sweep to be in contention. The home schedule is not promising: Providence, Duke, Georgetown, and Syracuse. Realistically, 15-12 going into the tournament might be the best they can achieve. Unless they show us something new and improved, it looks like an NIT sort of year.

I hope they do, but they keep losing to teams they should beat (like Providence last week). That loss to ND hurt, too - Troy Murphy just put on a show in the second half. If they pull it out in the next few games, they have a chance, but realistically, I think it's a "wait till next year" thing. I just hope they do well enough this year that Omar Cook doesn't decide to leave - it's horrible that you have to think of college players being a year to year thing!
I don't think so.Even if they ran the table, they would still be on the bubble. They have a lot of losses to bad teams.
Next year this squad will be more experienced, and I think they will have a shot of making a Final Four run.
Great win against Miami. They need every win they can get. Maybe they'll make a good run in the Big East tournament. You figure that Georgetown, Syracuse, Boston College, Notre Dame, and Providence are just about in from the Big East. St John's will have to fight Seton Hall, Villanova for the 6th and probably last spot.
Their current rpi is at 45 and their strength of schedule is at 22 which are pretty solid numbers. Losing to providence tonight and having a killer schedule comin up doesnt help. I think 10 big east wins should do it though.
