anyone in here gotta cbs league team? anyways it's a point based head to head league.. i gotta solid team but my pitchin has been hit hard by injuries:

Lords of Flatbush
Lineup:
c M Piazza
1 J Thome
2 R Alomar
ss J Hernandez
3 J Randa
of S Green
of B Williams
of G Anderson
dh R Mondesi

bench R Klesko
bench D Roberts

p T Armas (injured)
p R Johnson (injured)
p O Perez
p D Wells
p D Moss
p B Looper
p L Carter
p M Rivera (injured)
p T Wakefield
p J Santana
J Isringhausen (injured)

anyways besides everyone in the league hounding me for unit, this one guy made an intriguing offer:

wahburn and weaver or washburn and burnett for rivera and izzy... i've been haggkling w/ him to accept just izzy for wash even offerd him izzy and klesko for wash but although he blinked in the end he held out and said his offer remains on the table..

now it's essentially in my court.. should i,

1) trade izzy and rivera for wahburn and weaver or washburn and burnett

2) hold on to my guys if i can't get someone to take just izzy knowing whenever he returns he'll be a dominant closer

if i go w/ the first option which is the better pkg.. keep in mind burnett is a health risk but throws for k's while weaver is not a health risk but aslso doesn't throw for as much k's.. i did some research:

Current Player Year to Date MLB Standard Stats

Weaver, Jeff SP 66.8
Washburn, Jarrod 44.5
Burnett, A.J. 29.7

2002 MLB Standard Stats
Isringhausen, Jason 498.7
Rivera, Mariano RP 386.0

Burnett, A.J. 570.2
Washburn, Jarrod 543.0
Weaver, Jeff 477.8

2001MLB Standard Stats

Rivera, Mariano 726.8
Isringhausen, Jason 537.2

Weaver, Jeff 510.2
Washburn, Jarrod 421.7
Burnett, A.J. 402.7

i'm thinking this looks like a no brainer, wonderrin why i haven't jumped at his offer yet... but i'm from brooklyn, if it looks too good it prolly is...

anyways appreciate any and all feedback...:smokin:

Hey Annie!

Without knowing what Saves are worth in your league, I'd say take Wash and Weave and give up Mo and Izzy. Both closers are currently on the DL, and let's face it it won't be the last time.

Besides, Izzy sucks. ;)

thanks franny after consulting kev (squeaks) i concluded that was best also.. even though saves are worth 10 like wins, and closers have more opps to score in a week than a starter, i went w/ the deal cause of the injury concerns

One thing to think about is this -- When Mariano gets back, I think he'll get less saves this year.

A good number of holds, perhaps, but just not enough save opportunities when your offense scores 209 runs per game, and the pitchers give up 3.

 I just hope my Packers have this explosive of an Offense next season. :)
