Randy Johnson for Barry Bonds. Here we go, I'll duck now while everyone runs amok again.

Impossible to say, really, who comes out better on this deal. With the decreased emphasis on pitcher scoring, it's very very close.

I just can't believe Randy Johnson has been traded twice already, and we're not even 10 days into the season.

I can't complain...you certainly traded one of the best (if not THE best) pitchers in baseball for one of the best (if not THE best) hitters in baseball.

Wouldn't Bonds be the better pick because you'd be getting points virtually every day rather then just once a week? Plus Johnson is going to lose or get a ND now and then.

IT doesn't matter how they count them up over that week.

IMO, barry will also sit more than Randy will, and it's my opinion that he's more injury prone -- and in the NL that means no DH.

On the flip side, Randy will usually get you points with his innings and K's, even if he gets a ND. As for losses.. i guess it's theoretically possible :)

It really depends who is replacing and being replaced by each player - how big the improvement is over the current status, and how great the damage. E.g., if Johnson is replacing Steve Sparks, it's a huge improvement. If he's replacing Andy Pettitte, the difference is smaller (although still pretty damn big). Same goes for Bonds - and for the players that come in to replace them. If you can plug Tim Salmon into your lineup to replace him, then you might feel better than if your bench player is Timo Perez.

So from the point of view of the traders, it's all relative.

Be seeing you,

I took a look at the teams.. I gotta say that this is probably a great trade for both teams..
