EASTON GETS:

C Ben Davis
SP- Joey Eischen
RP- Kaz Sasaki

BOMBERS GET:

C- Mike Lieberthal
SP- Joel Pineiro
SP- Kaz Ishii
RP- Dave Veres

The deal, which finally fills the Dawgs closing role with the Mariners Sasaki was originally sent by the Dawgs. Negotiations made it invole these 7 players.

"i think this is a fair deal for both teams involved, we have both made our weaknesses into strengths thanks to this deal." Bombers GM yankeesrule2000 reallysaid.

Dawgs GM YanksRockMan agreed, "I believe this is a pretty fair trade. Although [we] gave up two [quality] starters in Ishii and Pineiro, I believe thatin return, we receive one of the premier closers in the game, Sasaki." he reallysaid.

The reason that this deal was made was obviously Sasaki. YanksRockMan gave up quite a bit to play them, but he is quoted as saying that Sasaki is one of the best if not the best closers in the game.

"It came to my attention that a player of Sasaki's caliber was on the market and I had no choice but to give the Bombers what they wanted. We believe that Kazuhiro is a player that we can build this team around for years to come." YanksRockMan pretendsaid.

ADVANTAGE- Probably the Bombers, it depends on what kind of a year Kaz has, along with if the others perform up to expectations. If everyone performs like expected, the Bombers have a CLEAR advantage, but it was a move that the Dawgs had to make.

- In other news, the Dawgs cut TB 2B Marlon Anderson and signed Seattle RP Jeff Nelson to a one year deal.

i think this is a pretty equal deal, no advantage to anywhere, because sasaki is capable in saving 45+ games

Then he pretend remembered that as a 4th round draft pick, Sasaki is probably a one-year deal, two the most. ;)

How's his elbow?

Mar 24 The Associated Press reports Mariners closer Kazuhiro Sasaki may not be ready to begin the season because of his sore right shoulder. He hasn't pitched in an exhibition game since March 15 and has worked only three innings total this spring. Sasaki threw in the bullpen Sunday and is slated to pitch again Thursday and Sunday. He underwent surgery last October to remove bone chips from his right elbow.

Views: Fantasy players should be prepared to leave Kaz on the bench next week. If he can't go, Jeff Nelson and Arthur Rhodes would likely split any save opportunities for the M's.

Looks like he might be out a week or so, not too bad apparently.

Sasaki, who hasn't pitched in a spring game since March 15, has a sore right shoulder. Mariners manager Bob Melvin, who pointed to the three bullpen sessions and 100 straight pitches Sasaki threw, called the injury a "little, minor setback in spring." Sasaki has pitched only three innings this spring.
Fantasy Spin: Little? Minor? Not for a guy coming off elbow surgery. This might turn out to be a meaningless blip on Kaz's radar by the end of the season, but it's a tad scary right now. Sasaki already should be a little low in your rankings because of the elbow, so don't bury him because of this. But watch him closely in the coming days.
