PUJOLS AND MILLWOOD TRADING PLACES
The Dawgs from Easton have made their second blockbuster trade of the season in the Ruth League and it is yet to be seen whether this one is as controversial as the first. The Michigan Wolverines GM, Coney36, was able to pry megastar Albert Pujols (.314-34-127) from the Dawgs for
Philidelphia ace Kevin Millwood (18-8 for Atlanta last year)
Brian Lawrence (12-12) was also sent to the Wolverines and Todd Hollandsworth (.284-16-67) was sent to the Dawgz.
TRADE ANALYSIS: The Wolverines pick up one of the top players in baseball today and the Dawgs get a very good pitcher whom they can keep next year, if they want to lose a 2nd round pick for him. The Wolverines also aquired Wade Miller in a non-Ruth League trade, and he takes the place of Millwood very nicely. Looking at the rosters, this move is much better for the Wolverines, but the Dawgs needed a 2nd quality pitcher. Unfortunately, to get him they had to give away their 1st round draft pick, which in this humble reporter's opinion was far too great a price.
ADVANTAGE: WOLVERINES

Thanks Sax.
Boz, when you get here can you change the topic to say Ruth instead of Ruuth? Thanks. :)

Yeah, i think Pete is getting robbed yet AGAIN.
He's sending one of the best hitters in the game, AND Brian Lawrence (3.69 ERA in 31 starts with a 3:1 K:BB), and in return he gets Millwood who will, as all pitchers, have a significant reduction in fantasy value this year, and Todd Hollandsworth, who's playing for his 3rd team in 2 years and is NOT in colorado anymore.
This seems like a pretty lopsided trade. It's not like Pete doesn't need starting pitching, but he sure as hell needs Pujols.
Cripes, the only trade he's offered up this year that's made sense is Jay Gibbons for Matt Lawton, someone take away that kids' password.
Anyway, there's my official objection to Pete senselessly making my divisional rival yet even MORE ahead of the pack than she is already, without getting equal compensation in return, filling a gap equitably, or getting rid of any excess of his own.
Hey pete, i'll trade you Derek Lowe for Bobby Abreu, if you throw in Erik Hinske.

This trade has been vetoed. I received the trigger number of complaints, and examined the trade for validity. Pete, Hollandsworth is a huge step down from Pujols, and Lawrence is at least on a par with Millwood. I'm sorry to have to be heavy-handed, but this trade doesn't really make a great deal of sense to me or to most other owners. Unless at least two of these players perform significantly differently (e.g Millwood wins the Cy Young, Hollandsworth takes the Triple Crown) than they are projected, then your team is greatly weakened.
Coney, clever, but it's clearly not reasonable. Sorry, but you're going to have to try again. Both of you, if you're determined to do a deal along these lines, just re-negotiate and re-submit the trade. You've got lots of time to get it done before the weekend. How about leaving Lawrence out of the deal? That seems pretty well balanced to me . . .
Note to all - please, when officially protesting a trade, make this clear in your post - "ditto" or vague comments about the trade won't do it. State something like "I officially protest" in your post, so that I can be sure that you're not just bitching (or kidding). I'd prefer an e-mail or PM so that protests can be anonymous, but at least please make it clear what you want.
Be seeing you,

Using last year's stats:
Pujols: 635 points
Lawrence: 572.5 points
Millwood: 649.5 points
Hollandsworth: 355.5 points
Millwood for Pujols would be an even swap...(just using last year's stats, since projecting what will happen this year is a crapshoot).

I'd just like to say that Hollandsworth has cleared waivers if anyone wants him :)
