Okay. There has been some debate over how points should be awarded in this year's league, so here's a chance for the players to decide. Two alternate schemes for pitching (there were no major complaints about the hitting formula) are listed below - please choose one:

Points scheme 1:

Win: 10 points
Loss: -5 points
Complete Game: 10 points
Saves: 6 points
Blown Saves: -3 points
Hits Allowed: -1 point
Earned Runs: -2 points
Walks Allowed: -1 point
Batters Hits: -1 point
Strikeouts: 0.5 points
Hold: 2 points
Inning Pitched: 2 points

Points scheme 2:

Win: 10 points
Loss: -5 points
Complete Game: 10 points
Saves: 4 points
Blown Saves: -2 points
Hits Allowed: -0.5 point
Earned Runs: -1 points
Walks Allowed: -0.5 point
Batters Hits: -0.5 point
Strikeouts: 0.5 points
Hold: 2 points
Inning Pitched: 2 points

Be seeing you,

i like point scheme 2, so if you dont have any closers, it wouldnt hurt you as much

Why can't I draft first.... THEN choose an option. Maybe I'll end up with two closers again:D :D

Alright option two.

Terry14420..... send your money to joltinjo14626. In fact, you might as well give me all your money anyway.:smokin:

Question regarding IP - if a guy throws .2 innings how many points does he get? 0? 2? .677777777777?

oh i didn't realize this issue was still up for debate...

i picked two but only cause there was no 3rd option and the first one penalized pitchers waay more severe than the second..

but really both options penalize starters 5 whole points for a loss.. that's akin to penalizing a batter .05 for an out...

and both options diminish the value of having a proven closer... mariano ain't makin 10 mil a year for his acting... i've never been in a league that penalized pithers for losses much less half the value of a win.. the fact that they don't earn a win and the ten points imho is penalty enough... and why has the save been devalued... a win is worth ten but a save half??? w/o the save there is no win...

i know this is fantasy baseball but let's not over emphasize the the "fantasy" aspect to the detriment of the "baseball" aspect...
