This page happens to be my home page - so when I am not looking at it I minimize the internet - when I come back after a while - I hit the refresh button - then I go to the pages with the new topics or new replies - and no new topic or replies, until I refresh that individual page...am I crazy or shouldn't it automatically refresh everything when I hit refresh on the home page or forum home page??
You're crazy :)
When you hit refresh, it only refreshes the page that you are on. Try refreshing the individual forum pages too. If none of that helps, try holding the shift key as you hit refresh.
Lemme guess, you're on AOL, right?

It is so fun being crazy!!!
I am using Internet Explorer right now via WindowsNT at work ...
It is a pain to keep refreshing each page...
Okay, in Internet Explorer, go into Tools>Internet Options. On the first tab, called "General", in the Temporary Internet Files box, click on "Settings". In the Settings window, make sure that the first option is checked for "Check for newer versions of stored pages - Every Visit To The Page".
Hope this helps :).

Hey, Jim, you're a freakin' genius, did ya know that? And only 22! ~sigh~ I'm 42 and hold about 1/100th of the computer knowledge some of you younguns have!

ritylnil,
Hey what does that make me? I'm 62 and I only hold 1/100th of the computer savvay that you do.
What is particularly frustrating to me is that my three sons and one son-in-law all are computer geniuses. Two graduated from MIT with Masters degrees in Computer Engineering. Man, sometimes I feel so inadequate.
Oh well.
