These guys are killin me! They can play superbly for a few games in row, then play the dismal Hawks and get blown away! Whats up with that? It seems they have a history of getting too complacent and lackluster against crappy teams but rise to the occasion against good ones. Any comments out there?

hey rita!
i know what you mean. and also, why do they have to play so much better on the road (except out here)?!?
but still, they are well above .500 and i have faith they'll stay that way.
sprewell ('trelly!) is playing much better now that he's back, and strickland looked good yesterday (it's his birthday today). i think everyone is looking ok, in fact. and on monday the miami game is gonna be televised--so us poor fans who live outta town get to see the whole game.
so, yea, it is frusterating when they blow a lead, but at least they are doing pretty well over-all. i just hope it remains that way and gets better.

~sigh~ A Knick loss to Toronto this afternoon! What a great game though...almost had a playoff quality to it in the 4th quarter!

yea, rita, it sounded like it was exciting.
i don't know why they can't do well at home this year.:(
maybe our luck will change this week w/vancouver or miami.
fingers crossed!

ps--did you hear about ewing offering to give a kidney to alonzo mourning? i think that is so sweet.

Did he really offer a kidney? I know they are good friends and work out together during the offseason. that was sweet!
Grrrr, he can give a kidney, but can't take a pay cut from the knicks? sheeesh :p :p

although i never heard the outcome of it. that was a really cool thing for ewing to do, though.:)
they are back over .600 again--woo hooo!
let's hope they can keep that up against the clippers tomorrow.

Are the Knicks back at it again? oy vey!
KNICKS need a CENTER, I would of kept EWING, those 10-12 board's a game were very important even at the age of 38. IT still kill's me that THE OAK MAN is not around, talk about a very important body on the floor, but at 12-7 thing's are looking a little better.

sorry maf, can't say i was sad to see the big fella go...
plus, camby's holdin his own avgin about 12 boards a game...
As much as I don't follow the knicks I didn't want *mind blank* Ewing to go! He was a great leader to the team!

i agree about ewing, ansky. i was sorry to see him go, but he's proving to have been unnecessary. camby's doing a great job at center (when he's not crying--sorry!), and houston and sprewell are contributing mightily as well (19 a piece tonight). not to mention rice--he led the pack.
i hope they continue to improve their home record. i still think they have a shot to go all the way.

ditto...
i like how the team looks right now... except i ain't a big van gumpy fan... MINUS charlie football, MINUS pat and his 16mil per year salary... personally, i'd bench lj, and start crazy man thomas...
i like childs, think he's much better at runnin the team than heisman charlie... i don't know why they're always ryin to dump him...
but anyways, i'mhopeful this seas... especially in our conference where none seems ready to take charge... we got as good a shot as anyone to get to the big dance... winning there, is another story ;)
CHILDS every year they want to dump him, but look what he has done in the playoff's, you are right dump CHARLIE, CAMBY has the potentiel, last year was dissapointing, this year he is looking good, LJ I was never a fan of his, this guy could of been alot better than he has been in his career, injuries etc. but he never impressed me in the NBA.

20 points for 'trelly tonight--woo hoo! so sorry, twin towers!
i agree about childs, and i like his attitude. and it sounds like lj was quite ineffective tonight, so maybe giving thomas a shot at starting more often would work. but i personally like van gundy (he's such a dork, you kinda have to feel sorry for him. well, i do. i mean, i teach first grade!:). but i also think he's done a good job.)
i hope we don't have to worry too much about denver this weekend.....

Last night, the Knicks looked great. What an excellent game! LJ looked pretty damn good....I like the guy! I also agree that Camby is holding his own and Childs is undervalued. I have mixed feelings about Van Grumpy. In a way it was sad to see Ewing go, but I think the time was right.

P.S. jl, just saw ur post about Ewing and the offer to donate a kidney...I hadnt heard that and it is awesome!

Knicks v. Bucks today. Knicks took an early lead and were up by as many as 17 points in the first half. But as is there pattern this year, they allowed the Bucks back into the game in the 2nd half. Bucks went ahead by as many as 10 points in the 4th quarter. Knicks tied it with a 3 pointer by Strickland with 0.6 seconds to go! Now in O/T....wooooohoooo! Go Knicks!

yeah, baby! blowing a 17-pt lead is a bit worrisome (as is what happened vs the jazz the other night), but i still think this team is doing much better than expected/predicted. you're right, rita, they have to keep up their momentum in the second half of these games. but what i really like about this team--like the yanks--is that everyone contributes, and you never know who is gonna really come through when it counts (like strickland last night. and rice).
there's no return date yet for lj w/his mcl sprain and ward's getting ready for that surgery on his knee. but they are still above .500.
:)!,

Another loss to the Hawks! These Knicks are so up and down. Can Van Gundy ever change his style?

look on the bright side:
...some of our best players had an off night, and others (lj and ward) are out, yet we didn't completely suck.
...the knicks have held opponents under 100 pts in 20 straight games (and 24/26 this season).
...camby had only 4 points but had 17 rb's.
...you can't win every game!!
i still think van gundy is doing an amazing job.
we'll take boston and philly this week!
