While perusing the Winter League stats on Baseball America, I came across the Mayaguez Indians. Under pitching, they had Jim Leyritz. Is the same one? :confused:

I wouldn't think so... The idea of him pitching is a bit frightening...

It's the King alright. It probably came under similar circumstances to Rick Cerrone pitching for the Yanks back in `87.

Given the length of his time on the mound, I'm betting it was just in a blowout. But, hey, that's better numbers than Mark Wohlers! :evil:

I don't think it was a blowout, look at the stats, he got a save!!!:P

Interesting. The King could play just about anywhere else on the field, so why not pitcher?

Well, it clearly is a position player pitching probably in a blow out

If you go to the stats page, you will also discover that Jim Leyritz has. appeared in 27 games, including 4 as a catcher. Unfortunately, he is only hitting .230, so his future might be as a pitcher.
