View Full Version : Great banner ads!
Hey, Jim... I just wanted to tell you that I think the new animated banner ads for bb.com look really sharp. Who made them?
-Cath
Thanks :)
Did it make you want to click on it and visit the rest of the site? That was why I made them - to remind people that there is more to B-B.com than these Kick-ass forums. I made them myself with a little help from my good friend "Adobe". :) And I figured nothing gets people's attention like Derek Jeter. I'm currently working on one for Chuck, and a hardcore animated one with Jete/Chuck and a few other players. :)

Well..... no. :o Although just now I went exploring to try and get into it, and while I admired the design and stuff, I don't think I'll be compelled to go back, I'm sorry... it's just... I come here for the forum. Scores and analysis and stuff I get from the radio... maybe others will feel differenly, but that's just not how I use the web. I was the same way with the Yankees site... I never visited the main page.
It would be cool, though, if other outside the bb.com community could see those ads...

I think it would be cool too, except my advertising budget is not exactly very, well, existant. If anyone has a homepage, they are of course welcome to use it to link to Bronx-Bombers.com. As soon as I start getting some decent advertising revenues going, I'll certainly be re-investing those funds into buying some advertising space somewhere. I've inquired with several sites that would be most worth my while, but they wanted a minimum of $15,000 to enter any kind of agreement. I'll be lucky to make more than $50 this month from ads - with $60 going towards server costs.
But, as I said, if anyone would like to use it to link to Bronx-Bombers.com, they are more than welcome. This is the HTML code that you can insert into your page:
<!---Bronx-Bombers.com Banner---------->
<a href="http://www.bronx-bombers.com/cgi-bin/redirect.cgi?url=www.bronx-bombers.com/?affiliate"
target="_top">
<img src="http://www.bronx-bombers.com/PSImages/banner2.gif" border="0" width="468" height="60"
alt="How Big Of A Fan Are You?"></a>
<!----End Bronx-Bombers.com Banner------->

Jim, I was going to post something about this myself. I usually right click on a banner, open the ad in another window, and shrink it before I see what it is. A day or two ago I did that and when I re-clicked to open the ad, so I could close it and open another one (just call me Clickman!), I was suprised to find myself, well, here! Nice banner! Btw, you all should click on Entertaindom, that one is another one that acually caught my attention while I was closing it, and it's pretty cool. Check out the God and Devil Show at that site. Good stuff.

Well the answer for me is yes. I'm a huge Jeter fan, and it's awesome to see your work Jim!! Keep up the great work!! :D You should also post them outside Bronx-Bombers.com!!
