I'm going with the four homers in one game by Gehrig.

Jackson with 3.
You forgot Posada flying out to center to end the massacre tonight.

Gehrig's four homers. He was the first American Leaguer and player of the 20th century to do it, and it would've been five had Al Simmons not made a shoestring catch at the wall off a ball he hit to the deepest part of the ballpark in his last at-bat. Even more impressive, he hit them in four consecutive at-bats.
The Four-Homer Game is the equivalent of the perfect game for pitchers, but slightly less common. In this expansion era of the juiced long ball, where Roger Maris's record can be surpassed six times in three years, I'm surprised the feat hasn't been accomplished since Mark Whiten last did it in '93. Quite fascinating.

Let me remind you that Jorge and Bernie are still the only players ever to go yard from both sides of the plate in the same game together. Lou's four homers still win though.

The most exciting game I have ever seen centering around hitting was the last game of the season the year Boggs (with Boston) and Mattingly were vying for the batting crown. The only way Mattingly could win was to get six hits. He led that game off for the chance to get to the plate six times. Boggs sat the entire game out to ensure his victory. Donnie got five hits, came to the plate the sixth time, but missed it. Boggs won. What heart Donnie showed that day. I still get goose bumps thinking about it. How old are his boys anyway? I wish they would grow up fast so Donnie can return to us. We need a new batting coach fast. Yankees offense was atrocious most of the season.
