I asked this once before in another forum, but I'd figure I'd ask here and see what the response is (plus also I just saw the question on ESPN.com).

It is Game 7 of the World Series and you have to choose one (currently active) pitcher to pitch it. Remembering that this is one game, not a whole season or career, who would you choose and why.

My choice would be Orlando "El Duque" Hernandez due to the big time pitching he has done in the playoffs lately.

Is this just Yankees, I assume?

Regardless, I'd go with Andy Pettitte, mainly for the same reasons you chose El Duque.

Nah, it can be anybody, from any team, even Pedro if you'd like. That is why I put in this forum.

If its the Yanks I'd like to say Cone. But who knows how he's going to finish. But ElDuce just might be the man.
If the choice is any team, I hate to admit it but Pedro would be my choice. This guy is amazing!

I picked El Duque on ESPN, figuring that it would HAVE to be a Yankee (to me, picking Pedro would mean that I wanted the Red Sox to be IN the World Series).

I realize that that wasn't the point of the question, but I couldn't bring myself to pick a non-Yankee.
