September 11, 2001 is a day we will never forget.
In New York City on that fateful day, 411 emergency workers died while sacrificing their lives to rescue people and fight fires at the World Trade Center.
FDNY 343, NYPD 23, PAPD 37, 8 EMT and EMS
Tonight Yankees, we're playing and winning for them.
Those workers showed no fear and sacrificed their lives to help people.
I want to see that same heroism and courage they had from you guys tonight because we're fighting for the AL East title.
Dale Carnegie said it best, "If you want to conquer fear, don't sit home and think about it. Go out and get busy."
Carlos Castenada also said, "We either make ourselves miserable, or we make ourselves strong. The amount of work is the same."
Play with bravery. Play with aggression. Play with intelligence. Play with togetherness. Play to win for them and for yourselves.
In the immortal words of Todd Beamer, one of the heroes on United Airlines Flight 93 that crashed in Shanksville, PA, but also stopped terrorists, "Are you guys ready? LET'S ROLL!"
Here we go, Yankees.

Last night's loss really was a killer in many ways. You hate to lose a game like that the first game of a series on the road, especially when we have the pitching disadvantage the next two games.
Just hope for the best and get some scoreboard help as well. Believe we now need the White Sox to lose
I'm not looking forward to any NFL game at all! It's baseball season!

UPDATE, 8:50 p.m.: Kevin Russo and Juan Miranda have been called up. They’ll be here tomorrow.
(This after SWB was knocked out of the playoffs.)
Is it just me or does anyone else wish they had called up forty eleven pitchers instead, like the Rangers have?
Another walk, another hit by Guerrero, another Rangers run. All this with two outs.
Tie game, again.

Yeah, he's an idiot savant. Capable on occasion of having a big game but he gets himself out, both at the plate and on the basepaths. Every time I watch him play, I see him do something completely stupid, and keep in mind this man is now a DH so he doesn't even get that many opportunities to be stupid.
He's simply not a player I fear. The Yankees have always handled him when the chips are down.

I agree with Kay too, but isn't this also kind of the way some of these games are like when the Yankees play the Red Sox too?
Difference being I'm always confident when we play the Sox

Yeah, he's an idiot savant. Capable on occasion of having a big game but he gets himself out, both at the plate and on the basepaths. Every time I watch him play, I see him do something completely stupid, and keep in mind this man is now a DH so he doesn't even get that many opportunities to be stupid.
He's simply not a player I fear. The Yankees have always handled him when the chips are down.
No disagreement from me but, he is kinda fun to watch and, he is having a good year.
Kearns is "automatically hit"?

Can we get a big hit for once?

Of course not. Blown scoring chance after blown scoring chance the past two nights.
Again!!! Bases left loaded!!! :enraged:
If I'm counting right, that is FIVE TIMES in these two accursed games.

Gaudin is terrible. I hate Joe for allowing him to pitch his second inning.
The Yankees must be the only team in the majors that doesn't take advantage of the expanded rosters to the full extent.

why is gaudin in wtf lol
Why, why, why, why, why still Gaudin? Does Girardi WANT to lose?
Two hits, two on, no outs, oh goody goody goody.

For a team thats a "title contender" its rather amazing how many guys on this roster I absolutely loathe. Gaudin is one of them.

If they pull a comeback win out of their ass every time, so be it.
The bride hath paced into the hall,
Red as a rose is she;
Nodding their heads before her goes
The merry minstrelsy.
The Wedding-Guest he beat his breast,
Yet he cannot choose but hear;
And thus spake on that ancient man,
The bright-eyed Mariner.
Oops, wrong team.

I understand that Joe has to piece together the bullpen for the rest of tonight's game, but I honestly don't know why Gaudin is on the team when they already have a long reliever in Sergio Mitre.

Meanwhile Texas uses their 8,000 bullpen arms...with every one of them being lights out. I mean does Albaladejo have the plague or something? Why cant this guy get a look?

What puzzles me is why they didn't call up more pitchers from SWB now that they're out of the playoffs. There must be someone down there who can get ML hitters out. (Kei Igawa, I am NOT looking at you.)

They also have a guy in the pen who had a pretty sick year in AAA....yet for some reason, Girardi refuses to use him. I'm sure if they brought up more AAA guys they would rot in the pen as well while he continues to use scrubs like Gaudin.
I cannot believe he beat that out! Lucky break.
