It basically calls Red Sox fans the new "herd" of sports. Especially their girl fans.

Giving a license to drive to someone from Massachusetts is like allowing an ape to drive a car.

Well, the main reason why my wife likes the Yankees is because I've been a Yankees fan for 30+ years. In the spirit of marital amity, she has adopted the Yankees, has developed a great appreciation of Mariano Rivera, and regularly wears Yankees gear (none of it, mind you, of the "pink" variety). She can even explain the balk rule (thanks to her husband's careful tutelage) with a respectable degree of eloquence.

Is this a bad thing?

Sure, I can see where some girl who wears a team's gear just "because" can be an annoyance but it's wrong to assume that just because a girl is wearing team gear, she's some ditzy know-nothing coat tail rider.

Among other things, they can't drive for sh*t...that's for sure.

edit: not all of them but driving in MA can be a horrifying experience.

Nice. Though I didn't find that article that funny.

My girlfriend has somewhat adopted the Yankees as her favorite AL team. She's been a casual Marlins fan for years. I'm down with that though, with enough time I'll talk about them enough for her to know the whole roster.
