Too bad the Nats arent facing the Marlins. Strasburg vs. Stanton would be fairly epic.

I hope the kid stays healthy and doesn't burn out because he looks like the real deal. (aka Kerry Wood)
Thorne and whatever mumbling moron former player with no business in the booth MASN just hired are already complaining about the strike zone.

Heh, it's an r and an n, I promise.
I think Thome would be better. Thorne needs to stick to hockey. He is dreadful as a baseball announcer. And I swear every time they play the Os the EI feed is MASN, home or road.

Ooh, I think it's Eddie Murray.

The baseball TV rules are so arcane no one can understand them, but I suspect the following: the Pit/wash game is being bcast on the MLB Network and is therefore an 'national' bcast, this precludes look ins, which are I suspect only allowed to games being bcast regionally.

Isn't nine hits a lot for Phil to be giving up to these Birds ... in just five innings?
Let's get a couple runs back!
It's a lot, but the effects of them seeing him 2 times already this season, including his last start, are showing. Plus, doesn't have his best stuff tonight,.

He was before my time but he's the name you always hear about as the player who came on the scene with a huge splash and was going to be the next greatest of all time - only to hurt his arm and have his career end prematurely.
The Yankees had a pitcher like that when I was kid by the name of Gil Patterson.

Phil is not being Phil tonight. 9 hits, 92 pitches, in only 5 innings.

He meant his record being 6 for 7 when Tex is walked to load the bases ahead of Alex. I believe that stat only applies to when Tex is intentionally walked to load the bases though.

I think he meant 6-for-7 following a Texeira IBB.... even though Teixeira was BBed ahead of him, but it was not I.
