Maybe we can take Brian Cashman with us to Pittsburgh and have him work with the Pirates' $34 million payroll, to see just how bad a GM he really is.

Why isn't that a home run? For the same reason that third strike to Cora was called a ball... no one calls anything right when it can benefit The Yanks. (I'm in full "Woe is me!" mode tonight!)

What's funny is most of you retort by saying, "I bet you thought the same thing last year!"

Great. I bet you thought the same thing in 2008. Did they make the playoffs that year? No. Is it guarantee they'll make it every year? No. What you fail to realize is general malaise and subsequent assumption that this team is just going to flip the switch and make the playoffs is actually an insult because you're not considering the work, effort and output necessary to make a run to the postseason.

This isn't a birthright. The Yankees had many years in the past when they jumped out to big leads early and held off the opposition, so it's not far-fetched to suggest someone else could do it to them.\

Of course it's not a birthright. And of course this isn't last year. Bringing up last year is just meant to illustrate that it's silly to call a season a failure IN MAY! That's all. You can be worried. I'm worried. A lot of people are worried. I'm just not ready to say it's a done deal that the season is over and the Yankees will never catch the Rays. Some are.

What's the point of the orange line? In most parks if it it's over the wall, it's a homer. The line just confuses it. In most parks when there's a line (like Fenway) it has some meaning...

I hate to say this but from what I've see from TV (I've been to neither stadium) I like Citi Field much more than Yankee Stadium.I've been there twice, last year when Burnett one-hit The Mets and this past Friday night, and, although it kills me to say it, it is nicer than Yankee Stadium, IMO. It's more inviting. Where as Yankee Stadium is beautiful, it is not as inviting and fan friendly. The other thing is, as is typical, The Mets copied a lot of things from the old and new Yankee Stadium, like tributes in pictures and plaques to their retired stars, giving CitiField more class than Shea. This year it was less like a stadium built for the non-existent Brooklyn Dodgers. Also, the staff at CitiField is exceptionally customer friendly. All that makes me sick because I can't stand The Mets but truth is truth.

Blah. At least they showed some fight.

That's the thing I can hang my hat with the Yankees so far this season. Even though they're not playing very well at all right now, they don't quit until the 27th out.

Sigh. Well, at least the offense put up a fight.

Yeah. Someone earlier made the comment that he didn't see the Yankees putting up a fight at the end. That's actually not their problem. Their problem is that they are digging themselves too deep a hole early in the game. They seem to score a couple runs or more in the 8th or 9th but by then it is too late.

They are showing some fight now but unfortunately they were out of innings. Mets still sti..k.

Yanks will get back to it. Season's long.

gardie got screwed on the 2 strikes that put him in the hole. He was out on the grounder, but the count changed the whole AB.

These games really make me sick. We need these games now or we will end up behind Toronto. I really don't wanna end up behind Toronto.

I'm getting quite annoyed at how the latest trend is to fail 8 innings and make a half-hearted comeback afterward. Of course, it's only been happening for so long, but our team needs to wake up quickly and realize that we could end up behind both the Rays and the Blue Jays. As of now, if we lose 2 and Toronto wins 2, we're in third place in the AL East. That's not a good sign.
