He always struck out a ton, but at least in the minors he walked a fair bit too. But yeah, presumably they're counting on him to teach better than he could do, because his career doesn't scream patience.

I think he may be referring to a different Bam Bam, because this one has been dead for about two years now. Still, he was a hell of a hitter in his day.
