ugh...i smell a walkoff...dp would be nice!
Nice effort by Hughes. They pushed him too far. Too bad there weren't many alternatives.
yeah i figured, but why was jeter at SS?
I was trying to signal him to slide over, but he never listens to me

simply out of curiosity, who would you go with?
Mo. Or if you really feel compelled to adhere to that rule of not using your closer in a tie game on the road, then Aceves or Coke.

Phil Coke comes to the ballpark to chew gum and own lefties...
and he just ran out of gum.

this is where brueny f's us tonight, if mo doesn't have to come in last night then who knows if he opts for him tonight. But i would hope joe wouldn't risk a game without knowing something in the numbers.

Per MLBTRADERUMORS.COM
10:33pm: Heyman says the Yankees and Mariners are now "talking Washburn." The Yankees won't part with Phil Hughes, Joba Chamberlain, Austin Jackson, Austin Romine or Jesus Montero, but with those exceptions, Heyman says the M's have their pick of Yankees prospects.
Coke vs. LHHs = good.
Coke vs. RHHs = bad.
Seems like hes been prone to the long ball this year too, not ideal

Given up more HRs to lefties, despite the good numbers.
I think Girardi left Hughes a little too long
eh. a half-assed execution of a shift and there's two out with a runner on first.
hughes did his job, period.

Yeah, outside of the last hit, Hughes did fine. That was an awful shift and a dinky grounder to 2nd got through because of it.
