I'm not sure if this is a part-time deal, but mlb.tv is now available, and the premium costs $110 dollars this year, 10 bucks less than last year. Premium features include: 800k and 1.2m streaming(although I heard a lot of people had trouble with the 1.2m stream last year), and all of these that are new for 2009: HD picture quality(where available), Live game DVR functionality, multi-game viewing options(I guess they improved the mosaic), live game picture in picture, live game chat, live game radio option, player tracker).

If live game radio option means that they sync up the radio audio to the tv video feed, that would be the coolest thing ever(I like Tampa Bay's radio crew more than their TV crew). And from the description, that's exactly what it sounds like. Kickass.

And the DVR function sounds awesome too, so like if I have work until 8 but the Rays start at 7, I can get home at 8:15 and just start the game from the beginning and watch from there.

mlb.tv regular is also available for 80 dollars, 10 less than last year. I got regular last year and didn't have too many complaints, but I'm definitely getting the Premium for 2009. Apparently 800k is the picture quality for both the regular and the Premium(regular was 400k last year), but the HD quality picture(I assume this is a working version of the 1.2m stream) is Premium-only.

There's a 1:30 demo video that you can watch on the link I posted which probably explains things better than me. This seriously sounds awesome(I'm a Rays fan living in NJ, I visit this board because of the active baseball talk), I can't wait.

I bought it today for the 3rd straight year (2nd full)

Imo, it is great because I never have any black-outs

and the 800k stream is more than enough

if you have a good connection it might be more fun to watch 2 or 3 games than the 1.2m stream for your team

110 dollars well spent

spring training is always a fun bonus

you can also take a look at archived games, first thing I did was go look at Marte "Ninja"-striking out Ortiz

Last year I bought both MLB Extra Innings thru my cable provider (non HD, sucky) and then shelled out the $120 for mlb.tv to watch saturday games.

This year unless I can find someone to go halfsies with, I guess I will be missing the Saturday non FOX games.

I'm going with the package on cable. Hoping for HD this year, but not expecting it. I've tried MLB.tv a couple of seasons in the past, but my wireless connection must not be good enough. I always seemed to have a shoddy video stream, sometimes dropping the vid altogether. The fact that I paid for that annoyed me quite a bit.

I'm really excited for the DVR function.

I might be getting it this year. Will the HD feed be live?

What do I have to do so I don't get any black-out games on MLBTV?

I'm soooo happy they dropped Silverlight. That was ridiculous.

Not so sure about the Mosaic, I havent heard anything about it and the Mosaic page seems to be offline. Looking at the demo, I think they will go for some fancy adobe flash programming which will allow you to do everything you wanted in Mosaic, without having to reboot it every time it crashed... But seriously though, I look forward to receiving the notice that my current Premium account expired and that I can purchase the new one :D

Nope, the blackout map can be found here (http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_wvoLtwni0kc/RhUvZd19-xI/AAAAAAAAHg4/nE8fsbE7hmg/s1600-h/MLBBLACKOUT.jpg).
