Crazy game so far. I know he is Flyer's property but that was a nasty cheap shot that JvR took from Della Rovere, as I post that Della Rovere took a run at a US player but only got a 2 minute penalty even though it was a hit from behind. Hopefully this game heats up physically even more.

Awesome. Talk about class...
I remember when this debate raged a few years ago and I think we all came to the conclusion that there are idiots everywhere. Like the ones on Long Island who booed the Canadian national anthem, and the ones in Philadelphia who booed the Canadian national anthem, and the ones in Detroit who booed the Canadian national anthem, just like the fans in Vancouver who booed the American national anthem.

Actually, the Detroit case was a Pistons/Raptors game. And Philly fans...I think it would be more of a story if they didn't boo something/someone (poor Santa Claus).
I think most of us can agree that booing an anthem is pretty bush-league, regardless of where it happens. I remember being totally embarrassed by the fans in Vancouver during the World Juniors a few years ago.

Goncharov ties it up for Russia, just under 6 minutes into the game.
Devils prospect, Patrice Cormier controls a feed after a nice effort by Kane for the second Canada goal. They are up 2-1 just under 8 minutes in. Way to go Patrice! Thats my boy!
Just after that Russia ties it up on a goal by Klopov to tie the game at 2 still under 8 minutes into the game.
2nd period:
Tyler Meyers blocks a shot off his left knee on the penalty kill. He skated of gingerly after play ended with minimal help and was able to put some weight on it.

Canada will go for their 15th IIHF World Under-20 Championship Gold Medal while Sweden will go for their first Gold World Junior medal since 1981.
Wowhat now?, have Sweden won one? Damn didnīt know that, I was born in 82 though so that explains why I have no memory of it;)

I concur......now ..now ...it`s The holidays ...let`s all be nice...
I still don't know when we weren't being nice... I thought we were just ribbing eachother a bit? its all in good fun right :)
I probably would have gotten it even quicker if I had typed "last semi-decent showing by a Huskies team."
I typed that in and got this

Ah, I guess you're right.
We'll have to wait until at the least week two of next year's season to see another one, as having not learned its' lesson, our athletic department so graciously decided to start our season next year with a game against LSU.

Figures I had to miss the 3rd period, ot, and the shoot out. Sounds like it was a great game. I'm glad Canada won, otherwise montrealer would have been very upset with me.
Looking forward to the final on Monday, I hope it is close like last years.

Actually with the roster I still think the Swedes were favored...........and I wouldn`t be upset with you......

How is it possible for anyone's roster to be more stacked than Canadas? Most of these kids either were or will be first round picks.

Sweden has something like five players projected to go in the top ten of this year's draft. Canada may have more depth, but Sweden probably has the edge in elite talent right now.

Which means that Canada has the other five :P.
I'll take depth and talent over just Talent. I hope Sweeden comes out on top though.

I`m pretty nervous tonight. Canada was lucky to beat a Russia team that wasn`t all that good. The Swedes are better and tougher than the Russians. Should be a great game.

Ouch!
Jacob Markstrom was clobbered while playing the puck by Angelo Esposito.
Then, Victor Hedman got Esposito in a headlock.
No penalty.

Wow, I completely forgot about this game and ended up at guitar center to buy a new bass and amp. Sounds like Canada dominated it. Nice to see Cormier pick up a medal after a solid tournament.
