We are not going to win number 27 this season, but we almost didn't win the WS in 1998 when we won 114 games.

The 1998 team would not let anything stop them, no matter what the cost.

I saw the 1961 team, and until I saw the 1998 Yankees, the '61 team was my favorite. I know we must NEVER choose one World Championship team over another, but none was as great as 1998.

There was no doubt in my mind that Chuck's play would not cost us everything, and it didn't. But it was tough after Friday's game.

Knoblauch's was the most egregious mental error I've ever seen in a big game.

I was a big Knobby fan and even I couldn't justify what happened - luckily, the team was good enough to overcome it, but yikes! That play has been overshadowed by the "yip" problem he developed after that, although I remember talk at the time that there was some connection between the "Blauch-head" play and the subsequent yips.

Remember David Cone's mental error when he was pitching for New York's other team against the Braves?

Weird symmetry that he ended up starting thte "Blauch-head" game for the Yankees. Not "weird symmetry." That should read, "Ironically, he ended up starting..."

You obviously don't listen to Michael Kay enough.
