start Molina how often?

I was wondering what people thought about how often Molina should start the rest of the year now that we have Pudge.

It seems Molina will be Mussina.'s personal catcher.

Including tonight Pudge will have caught the other 4 pitchers in succession. So is Molina pegged to start only once every 5 starts? Molina did such a good job with the pitching staff, I was thinking he should probably catch a bit more than that.

So how often? Twice, with another constant starter? Pettitte didn't do so good with I-Rod, but that's just a one game sample. Rasner had been doing much better with Molina, too. Ponson-Pudge battery worked great. Joba was obviously doing great with Molina previously, tonight's game pending.

But 2 out of every 5 games might take too many at-bats away from Pudge. Maybe spot-start Molina some more on occasion? Or should Pudge be starting 4/5 from here on out?

Rasner was atcually doing better with Moeller, not Molina.

The answer is it depends.

Molina will catch Moose. As for the other starts my guess is that Pudge gets 7 of 8. So basically every 10 games Molina will catch 3 - the 2 Moose starts and one to give Pudge a break, probably day game after night game kind of thing.

I'd give Molina 2 out of 5. Ideally, I'd like them to split since Molina is an outstanding catcher. But, I'd rather lengthen the lineup for a while with Pudge in there.

2. August 12 at 8:10
3. August 19 at 7:07 (although with two out of five days off he could start sooner)
4. August 24 at 1:35
5. August 30 at 1:05
6. September 4 at 7:10
7. September 9 at 10:05
8. September 15 at 7:05
9. September 20 at Time TBA according to ESPN's schedule for us
10. September 26 at 7:05

Here are games that start 3 hours or more earlier than a game on the previous day not listed above:

If Molina caught all 10 games of the first set, 2 of the games of the second set I. Rodriguez would catch after Molina caught the previous night. If Molina caught the other 16 of the games listed above that would be 31.4% which is close to 30%.

with 4 games in 100+ degree days splitting the series would seem a good start and the above post seems pretty fair assessment
