One interesting thing about Teixeira's HR - maybe he will find he likes the short porch (I know it will be a new stadium but the dimensions will be similar) that he decides he wants 81 games to swing for it.

I don't really think there is an upside to a grand-slam from the opposing team, to be honest.

Can't hurt! any little advantage is fine with me.
Maybe he should talk to Jeter about it. That dude's got an edge!! :)

If he were to face somebody who had 93 + mph and command on the breaking ball, he is an automatic out. Other than that HR off Edwar which was due to because he couldn't get the feel for the change up Tex has not impressed me one bit. He's seeking a 10yr. commitment..w/ that long swing those 10 yrs. are mostly declining years. No Thank You I want CC instead of this guy. And my bet is that Georgy is going to have to pick up the 1B mitt soon.

I hoe Yankees dont sign him . He is Boras guy and is looking for a 10 year contract . Its going to be cost Yankees like $150-$160 Million atleast to sign him .
He is hitting .282 with 21 HR in a CONTRACT year .
He is way over-rated .

I heard him yesterday on Fox and he said he wants a 10 year deal...do you thing he will get one?
If the Yankees sign him to a 10 year deal I think we will have problems down the road w/Posada and Jeter and maybe Arod - they may need to be at first when their careers wind down.

10 is too long! There are very very few players - no pitchers - that I would sign to that kind of deal.

Wasn't Damon/Boras looking for a 7 year deal as well? Just because he wants 10 years doesn't mean he will get it.

no way he's getting a 10 year deal with any team. he and boras can dream though right? he will have to settle for like 7 years, IMO

I'll pass on this one. Is he really going to give us much more than Giambi is giving us now? Look at the numbers.
And, I agree with siddiqui -- it remains to be seen whether Tex will get the contract he seeks.

Dont forget Jeter, Tex isnt going to sign with the yanks just because of a HR.

I didn`t forget Jeter just for the fact he has only 3 years left but no doubt they will resign him .

Teix is an above average defensive player for his position and Dunn is below average.
They both more or less have the same Road OPS for their careers.
Teix fills a positional need and Dunn really doesnt.

I just hope he doesnt hit anymore home runs the rest of the season to sway him to another stadium

Yeah I'm pretty sure he'll make his decision based on who offers the most money.

for me there is only one upside for the tex HR, and that was even though the yankees conceded it, we still rallied, showing heart and determination not shown for a while

There is one. It still didn't stop the Yankees from coming back and winning. Was great watching it here in So Cal.
