I guess this thread is mocking my Matt Holliday thread. But anyway, Young's defense up the middle tonight looked brutal. His contract sucks too.

He might have some of the worst range of any shortstop in the bigs. Unless he was completely mailing it in last night (which I can't believe, given his repeated heroics at the plate at ASGs), his defense looked utterly horrible.

Granted, Jeter has pretty bad range, but Young makes Jeter look fantastic with the glove. If we were to get Young somehow, I'd move him to a different position.

Is this only because he scored the winning run in the 15th inning? Because if that's the case Gardner is the answer to our problems too. I really don't think we need Micheal Young. You wanna know who the real answer to our problems are? Mr. JOSH HAMILTON. Think about it he can play Center Field, He is left handed and that dude is a MONSTER.

Its because over the last 3 years nobody has better stats with RISP than Young.

Cash should be able to get him as the throw-in in the Jeter for Hamilton deal.
