Great pick up... Now we have a pitcher who pitches with both arms and Oneli is a relief guy with 12 fingers . It doesn't get any better IMO...A ball game and freak show all in one...:D :eek: :eek:

After the nightmares that were Melido and Pascual, I have been a firm believer that the Yanks should never sign another pitcher named Perez again. Make room on the DL for this kid.

This is he (http://www.thebaseballcube.com/players/P/Oneli-Perez.shtml).
He pitched great in AA last year and in A ball before that, but when he got to AAA this year, he appears to have suddenly forgotten how to throw strikes and get people out. Great K/9, but his WHIP so far this year with two different AAA clubs has doubled his average over his MiL career.
He's got a low 90s fastball and a highly regarded slider, but I wonder if he's suffered some kind of injury. He really fell off the table this year.
