Didn't we sign Broussard like 3 weeks ago? That was kind of pointless...

Meh. Didn't cost nuthin'.
The signing gave them one option among several to consider. Now that they've had a chance to look closer, they decided it wasn't worth considering. It's probably much more of a problem for Broussard, who might have turned down another offer to sign the minor league deal with the Yankees and may now be out of luck.

I'll always remember Broussard for breaking up Wang's no-no in the 8th last year with a homer.

I actually think he had a clause that he could get his release if he wasn't on the roster by a certain date. I don't know who he was going to replace on the roster, hence why I said it was pointless. The last thing we needed was a left-handed first baseman.

He asked to be released.
In his short time at AAA he was smoking the ball. Probably wants a shot to play everyday in the majors somewhere else.

Broussard will land somewhere....yep, too bad he's not a righty.
Obviously Broussard will now sign with Tampa and hit 48 homers next year.
