I noticed another thread wasn't made after the previous one was locked, hopefully this one won't turn into a feud.
All my prayers are with Harlan and his family and it's good to hear that his condition seems to be improving.

I was just going to start another thread to post this update:
Joba Chamberlain's father is doing a little better in the hospital, according to New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi. "His father is a little better," Girardi said before Tuesday night's game against Tampa Bay. "Still more tests to be run. Joba is by his father's side. We're just praying that he gets better quickly."

That's certainly good news.

If you haven't read this its a great story about Joba and his dad....after reading this you realize why Joba should be nowhere else but next to his father...I hope Harlan pulls through and gets back to health ASAP...

Wow, I did not even know Joba's dad fell ill until about five minutes ago. :( I was at the game @ TAM Monday and was wondering why I did not see him in the bullpen but was not keeping up the news. I am glad to see Harlan is feeling better though.

Great news reported by Abraham:
http://yankees.lhblogs.com/2008/04/18/statement-from-joba/
This statement from Joba Chamberlain, via the Yankees:
“After several difficult days, my father is feeling much better. He is still in the critical care unit of the hospital and more tests await him, but he is off the ventilator and breathing on his own. Each day he’s acting more and more like himself, and he’s even giving people grief —myself included — because the hospital doesn’t carry Yankees games on television.
“When things like this occur in life, you certainly take notice of how much your teammates become more like family members. Their unconditional support, along with that of so many fans, has made a very tough time easier to deal with. Everyone’s love has been felt by my entire family, and it has brought great comfort to us when we have needed it most.
“I look forward to being reunited with my manager, coaches and teammates so I can thank each of them personally for all that they have done for my family.”

Glad his dad is doing better ... I'm sorry I won't get to see Joba on this trip to Camden Yards but he's right where he needs to be, and kudos to the Yankees for allowing him to take whatever time he needs.
